Myth: Construction careers only mean working in the trades.

False. The homebuilding and construction industry offers a wide range of career paths beyond the job site. From sales and customer care to land acquisition, marketing, design, purchasing, HR, finance, and project management, there are opportunities for many different skill sets and interests.

Whether you enjoy working with people, solving problems, managing projects, or creating content, the construction industry has a place for you.

We had a great time on Good Day Sacramento yesterday talking all things Fork in the Road!

We’re getting closer to an incredible evening of food, wine and community, all while supporting workforce development and the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

Thanks to the Good Day Sacramento team for having us! We can’t wait to see everyone at Fork in the Road on September 24 at Ciotti Cellars in Lincoln.

That’s a wrap on our 2025-2026 program year! 🎉

It was a busy year for the Building Careers Foundation, and we’re incredibly proud of what our team, students, partners, and supporters accomplished together.

A few highlights:

• 152 BuildStrong Academy participants
• 69 job placements through the Academy
• 56 graduates entered the construction industry
• 218 total people placed since 2023
• 850+ hours of volunteer time donated
• 40 employers participated in job fairs at the Academy
• $1.3M+ in grants and major donations awarded
• And, of course, the launch of our first-ever all-women’s Home Builders Institute - HBI BuildStrong Academy cohort!

There’s a lot to celebrate from this past year, and we’re excited to share a few of the highlights with you.

A milestone worth celebrating!

Today, our first-ever all-women’s Home Builders Institute - HBI BuildStrong Academy cohort received commemorative T-shirts celebrating their place in BCF history as the first all-women’s class.

We’re proud of everything this group has accomplished and excited to see where their skills, confidence, and careers take them next.
