🐕 Can you help the CHPD K-9 Unit train?

Our K-9 team is looking for new locations throughout Citrus Heights and the surrounding area where they can conduct training exercises.

Training in different environments helps keep our K-9 team prepared for the wide variety of situations they may encounter while protecting our community.

We are particularly interested in:

✅ Vacant commercial buildings
✅ Empty office spaces
✅ Warehouses
✅ Buildings scheduled for renovation or demolition
✅ Vacant retail locations
✅ Other temporarily available properties

Our K-9 teams use these locations to conduct building searches, tracking exercises, and controlled training scenarios. We bring all necessary equipment and training aids with us. In most cases, all we need is permission from the property owner or manager and access to the site.

These training opportunities help ensure our K-9 team remains ready when they are needed most.

Calling all Central Valley K-9 Teams. (Law enforcement only)

Registration is open for the first K-9 trial in the WSPCA season. Come out and have a great time.

The trial will be open to the public for spectating at 10am and is free admission. Please refrain from bringing your personal dogs as there will be several law enforcement K-9’s competing.

There will be various food trucks on site as well.
