We provide weekend and other food gap programs serving over 10,000 children across 400 locations.

Thanks to Kemps’ Giving Cow program Every Meal received shelf-stable milk cartons to help provide nutritious food to children across Minnesota.

Milk is one of the hardest items to provide. Shelf-stable milk helps ensure children have access to this important source of nutrition, even when refrigeration isn’t available.

We’re so grateful for partners who help make weekends a little brighter for thousands of kids and it was great to have Kemps Cows team come in and help pack bags!

Weekend Meal Program | Food Bag Distribution

Live in or near Minneapolis, or willing to make the drive? Help fight child hunger by placing food bags directly into students’ backpacks, helping fill the weekend food gap.

1–2 hours on Thursdays or Fridays during the school day. Volunteers serve at the same school each week, with training and support provided.

Every Meal is looking for volunteer delivery drivers to help us reach partner schools and community sites across Minnesota. Our big trucks handle many deliveries, but volunteer drivers help us extend our reach and get food to even more communities.

You can drive an Every Meal van or use your own vehicle. Bring a friend along, too!

Every Friday on the bus ride home, Tony’s friends chat about bike rides, sleepovers, and trips to the park, while he’s wondering how long the food at home will last. That worry doesn’t stay on the bus. It follows him into the classroom, making it harder to focus, learn, and just be a kid.

Tony’s story reflects the reality of food insecurity for 1 in 5 kids in Minnesota. When school is out for the weekend, so are school meals, and for many kids, that gap means going without. Every Meal fills that gap by delivering a bag of nutritious food directly into backpacks before kids head home on Friday.

As a community-funded organization, every one of those bags of food is because of people like you who believe Every Child deserves Every Meal.
