Placer County ranks seventh in California for breast cancer incidence. It's a reminder that breast cancer continues to affect far too many families in our community.

The good news? Early detection remains one of our best tools, and together we can continue improving outcomes.

Ashley grew up knowing breast cancer could change a family’s life. When she received her own diagnosis in 2025, she faced not only the fear of cancer, but the memories of losing her mother and grandmother to the disease.

Her experience became a turning point. She began prioritizing her health, reconnecting with her community and finding new meaning in serving others.

Today, Ashley is a PBCF volunteer and a passionate advocate for early detection. Her message is simple and powerful: Don’t let fear keep you from getting screened.

Read Ashley’s story, including the lessons breast cancer taught her and the advice she hopes others will hear.

Breast cancer doesn't stop at county lines, but communities can make a real difference.

While neighboring Yolo County experienced a 6.8% annual increase in breast cancer incidence, Placer County's rate remained essentially unchanged over the past five years.

That's encouraging news, and it's a reminder that education, screening and outreach are making an impact.

Early detection saves lives. Access makes it possible.

This morning, we welcomed the first UC Davis Health MobileMammo+ Bus visit to Placer County, providing mammograms to uninsured and underinsured patients right here in our community.

Placer Breast Cancer Foundation is honored to sponsor three MobileMammo+ Bus visits in 2026 because everyone deserves access to breast cancer screening, regardless of their financial situation.

Help us continue bringing this vital resource to our community by donating at placerbreastcancerfoundation.org/donate.

140 Women. One powerful impact. Last October, 140 uninsured women received free mammograms through UC Davis Health.

That's 45 more women than the year before.

Every screening is an opportunity for early detection, and every woman deserves access to that care. We're proud to partner with UC Davis!
