Statistics show that Roseville School District is not performing as well as it used to academically. School Safety: There have been 3 gun incidents at Roseville Area High School in a month. As a School Board member I will advocate for:
• A thorough safety sweep before students re-enter the building.
• Expelling the student. District Policy 520 states that any student bringing a firearm to school must be expelled for one year. This policy must be enforced to send a message of zero tolerance.
• Raising expectations for student behavior. Students must consistently be held accountable for minor infractions (fights, disrupting class) before they become serious offenses.
• Strong administrative support for teachers to manage classroom disruptions.

I will explore every available option to restore safety to our schools. Concerned parents have suggested installing metal detectors, checking backpacks, limiting entryways, and conducting random safety sweeps. I will push for open communication with families and to reestablish a strong relationship with the Roseville Police Department.

Despite spending $20,000 per student, only 49% of our students can read at grade level and only 38% can do math at grade level. We can do better. As your school board member, I will work to get Roseville schools back on track.

Early voting started Sept 22 at the Plato building in St. Paul. Beginning Oct 20 you will be able to vote at the Ramsey County Library in Roseville. When you get my postcard, hold on to it for more voting information.
