What an Incredible Week at the 2026 Blue Star Mothers of America National Convention! πΊπΈ
From beginning to end, this year's convention in Columbus, Ohio, was filled with inspiration, education, service, and sisterhood.
We kicked off the week with the Miles for Our Veterans 5K in support of the President's Project, followed by a warm welcome at the President's Reception and registration.
Throughout the week, we celebrated our first time attendees, honored our Gold Star Mothers, recognized our Shining Stars, honored Blue Star Mothers who are also veterans, recognized our mentors, applauded our appointed National Chairs, and took time to remember our Blue Star Moms who became Blue Daisies during the past year
One of the highlights was receiving a Proclamation from the State of Ohio, presented by Tammy Puff on behalf of Governor Mike DeWine, recognizing the work Blue Star Mothers do in support of our military, veterans, and their families.
Service remained at the heart of our convention. Together, 198 delegates and 28 associate members packaged 2,000 sweatpants for Ohio veterans through our VAVS service project. We also proudly presented a $19,000 donation to 3rd & Goal Foundation, made possible through the President's Project and the Miles for Our Veterans 5K.
Our visit to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum was another unforgettable experience. Almost nearly 250 Blue Star Mothers gathered for our official convention photo, toured the museum, shared a wonderful lunch, and reflected on the sacrifices of those who have served our nation.
Educational workshops, meaningful speakers, the silent auction, fellowship, music, and laughter reminded us that while we come from chapters across the country, we are one Blue Star Mothers family.
We were honored to hear Army veteran and songwriter Tim Maggart, whose heartfelt songs celebrating Blue Star and Gold Star Mothers touched every heart in the room. His gift of music was a beautiful tribute to military families everywhere.
A special thank you to the Ohio chapters, whose hospitality helped make this convention such a success. From sponsoring buses and the museum luncheon to sharing local favorites like Schmidt's cream puffs, Graeter's ice cream, and Ohio's famous buckeyes, you truly showcased the warmth and generosity of the Buckeye State.
As one convention comes to a close, another chapter begins.
π Congratulations to our newly elected 2026-2027 National Blue Star Mothers of America Board and National Big Dipper Board! We wish each of you success as you continue leading Blue Star Mothers of America and advancing our mission of supporting our military, veterans, and their families.
To everyone who attended, volunteered, presented, donated, and served throughout the week, Bravo! Thank you for making the 2026 National Convention one to remember.
Until we meet again, thank you for your friendship, your service, and your unwavering commitment to our military families. πΊπΈπ
