Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Navy! 🇺🇸⚓

Today, Blue Star Mothers of America proudly celebrates 251 years of the United States Navy!

On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress authorized the creation of a naval force, beginning a legacy of service that continues today.

For more than two and a half centuries, generations of Sailors have answered the call to serve, protecting our nation and defending freedom across the seas. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice are woven into the history of our country.

To every Sailor serving today, every Navy veteran who served before them, and the families who proudly stand behind them, we thank you. 💙

And to our Blue Star Mothers with sons and daughters serving in the United States Navy, today we celebrate your Sailors with you! ⚓❤️🤍💙

Giving Back | Service Continues Beyond the Uniform 💙🇺🇸

For many who have served our country, service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.

It continues in our communities. It is found in veterans mentoring the next generation, volunteering at local events, helping fellow veterans, supporting military families, and stepping forward whenever there is a need.

That heart for service never truly goes away. ❤️

At Blue Star Mothers of America, we are grateful for the veterans, military families, volunteers, organizations, and community members who continue to give their time and talents in service to others.

And we are proud to serve alongside them.

Giving back is one of the greatest ways we can say thank you. Whether it is an hour of your time, a helping hand, or simply showing up when someone needs you, every act of service matters.

Today, we celebrate those who continue to serve long after the uniform is hung up. Thank you for showing us that service is more than something you do. It is something you carry with you. 🇺🇸

Remembering Together 🇺🇸

As Patriot Day approaches, we take time to reflect on September 11, 2001, and the day that forever changed our nation.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the families whose lives changed in an instant, and the service members who would answer our nation’s call in the years that followed.

For military families, the legacy of September 11 is deeply personal. An entire generation stepped forward to serve, while mothers and families stood behind them through deployments, long separations, uncertainty and sacrifice.

Before we observe Patriot Day, may we remember not only the tragedy of that day, but also the courage, compassion and unity Americans showed one another in the days that followed.

Twenty five years later, we remember together. We honor together. And we teach the next generation why September 11 must never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙
