🚨 Mission Success! 🚨

Check out this dramatic moment captured by the crew of the USCGC James (WMSL 754) as they use destructive fire to neutralize a suspected drug smuggling vessel! This operation took place approximately 202 miles southwest of the Galapagos Islands on Nov. 4, 2025.

This interdiction is one of nine successful missions conducted by the James crew in the Eastern Pacific Ocean's international waters. Our brave Coast Guard continues to protect our seas and combat illegal activities.

This year, as we gather with loved ones and dig into our favorite holiday dishes, let's take a moment to think of our brave service members like Sergeant Austin Miller from the 1st Field Artillery Battalion. He'll be missing his mom's famous mashed potatoes and gravy while serving our country, protecting the freedoms that allow us to celebrate!

To Sgt. Miller and all the incredible men and women in uniform – THANK YOU for your selfless sacrifice. We're grateful for you every day, especially during the holidays. Wherever you are, we hope your hearts are full! ❤️

We salute Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, Second Lt. Audie Murphy! A Texas farm kid, who had courage.

Against overwhelming odds, Second Lt. Audie Murphy stood his ground as his unit faced six enemy tanks and waves of infantry. Alone on a burning tank destroyer, he held off the attack with fierce machine-gun fire, killing dozens and forcing the enemy to retreat. Wounded but unbroken, he led a counterattack that saved his company — a true symbol of courage and determination. 🇺🇸🔥
