First Rosenberg Like our page to get church updates and inspirational scriptures to get you through the week! In 1896, three Baptist men organized Rosenberg Baptist Church. T.E.

Muse served as the first Pastor from 1898 to 1900. The 1900 Galveston hurricane destroyed an unfinished church building. Services were held in a nearby church and in a rail car until a schoolhouse was purchased in 1901. In 1912, a brick sanctuary was built, with the first electric lights in Rosenberg. Some baptism services were held in the Brazos River until the 1930’s. The first reference to the church as the First Baptist Church of Rosenberg was in July 1922. New facilities were added over the years as the congregation grew. The last sanctuary was dedicated on January 19, 1964. The dedication stone read: Jesus Christ: The Chief Cornerstone,

The church voted to replant, which facilitated the sale of the property in 2024. While this is a page turn in the great history of First Rosenberg, it is NOT the final page nor the closing of the book. This is a new beginning, a new chapter, that God will write in our history. That is exciting! It is imperative as followers of Christ that we individually, and corporately, keep our eyes on and live before the throne of our mighty God. Join us at our new locations! Sundays

The Mother’s Day Out program was a ministry of First Baptist Rosenberg from 1977 until 2024. When First Baptist Rosenberg made the decision to sell our church property, the MDO program relocated to Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg. While the program is in a new location and has a new name, the primary focus remains the same - providing toddlers and preschoolers with educational, developmental, and social experiences in a fun, Christian atmosphere.
Open enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year
If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day Out program, we encourage you to visit our website at https://firststepsmdo.org/. Please review the registration packet, then contact us to schedule an in-person tour. We are currently focused on registration for September 2026. Applications are accepted year-round, as long as we have openings based on the teacher/child ratio.

First Steps is a Christian-based academic Mother’s Day Out program for ages 18 months to Pre-K. Our program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, following the Lamar CISD school schedule from September thru May.
