We provide humanitarian relief efforts and crisis prevention to our Haitian brothers and sisters, both in Haiti and in the United States. Our organization stands on the principles of solidarity and direct action. We aim to support the Haitian community during times of crisis and the subsequent phases of recovery or resettlement. RLBHRS's ultimate goal is to provide relief to Haitians in crisis in
Haiti and the United States. We are committed to coordinating and facilitating sustainable ways to assist and empower our Haitian brothers and sisters. We are seeking a grant to open and operate a Welcome Center in the Newark area. It will allow us to provide all the emergency services that we usually facilitate, at one location. The Welcome Center will be a one-stop location aiming at welcoming people who seek immediate services as they immerse themselves in American society. We would like to be able to provide assistance to migrant families who need coats, blankets, clothes, shoes, toiletries, and food on site. We will also provide counseling, job readiness training, ESL classes, GED classes, and referral services on-site. Our mission is to first facilitate and coordinate disaster relief efforts and emergency preparedness protocols in areas affected by the disaster in Haiti. Second, to provide needed services and resources to Haitian migrants and or any non-Haitian migrant seeking legal status in the United States. By working with grassroots organizations, governmental officials, and agencies domestically and abroad, we will unite skills, experience, expertise, and resources to make the most impact. We stand on the principles of solidarity and direct action. We aim to support communities in Haiti not only at the time of disaster but during the subsequent phases of recovery.
