Union County Connects is approaching our 5th anniversary as a 501(c)3 advocacy organization. As a 100% volunteer organization, we have engaged the community while helping to attract millions of dollars in grant funding for safe streets and trail development to Union County.

While we're proud of our accomplishments and the progress made, we're looking forward to the future and planning to build an organization that will out last us all.

Our late friend and founder, Al Walcoff, always stressed the importance of relationships and in-person connection, especially in our increasingly digital world. With that thought in mind, some of the team met to listen to one of Al's favorite musicians, Rich Depalo, while laying out plans to sustain our organization for the next 5 years and beyond.

We believe everyone in Union County has a right to safe streets and accessible trails.

Fifteen years ago today, the world lost a bright, kind, and joyful soul.

Not a day goes by that we don't think about Nikhil's smile, his laughter, and the joy he brought to our lives.

We miss him every day and love him always.

As we do each year, we will gather at Nikhil's Way to remember him and how he continues to touch so many lives. ❤️

Tomorrow is National Trails Day!

Whether you're on a dirt path through the woods or a paved greenway through an urban landscape... safe and accessible trails benefit us all!

Please join our friends at and to see how the .greenway is coming to life. The Greenway didn't happen overnight. It is the result of nearly a decade of consistent advocacy.

Thanks to the persistence of so many advocates and leaders, residents of Essex & Hudson County will soon be enjoying a new asset to the community.

Together, we can bring similar funding and greenway connectivity right here to Union County!

Union County Connects Board Members Stephen Dunn & Jonathan Phillips were out at the Tour de Elizabeth today, where over 700 riders took to the streets to experience the city's rich history and culture.

Through his work at , Jonathan has built not only the Tour de Elizabeth into a premier cycling event but also helped to establish the Elizabeth River Trail as a model for urban trail development.

In coordination with & , UCC is working to expand a safe & connected trail network and bring the ECG right through the heart of historic !

The East Coast Greenway connects cities along its 3000-mile route from Florida to Maine, and Elizabeth is positioned to be a premier stop along the way!
