Jeanette Kangas brings her new Kpanlogo and Quinto Conga from Africa Heartwood Project to life with this beautiful composition, recorded in her studio at Umpqua Valley Drum Lessons in Roseburg, Oregon, USA.

This is part of a bigger project that I am working on called To The River. This is part one of the percussion section, which is a hand drum solo. Section two...

I had the pleasure of spending a little time with some of the families in our Support Program for Orphans in Care of Kin (SPOCK) today. I continue to be so impressed by the courage and love of many strong Liberian women who take care of their young relatives whose parents have passed. It feels like an honor to lighten their financial burden each month. Some of the 50 women enrolled have received small loans or support advances from Africa Heartwood Project to expand their cottage businesses to better provide for the children in their care. Baking cookies. Making soap. Selling slippers or dry goods. Thank you everyone who has made it possible to make this difference for good!

Friends, We are actively doing good in West Africa, even though our page is embarrassingly out of date. 33 new Village Water Projects in Ghana and Liberia, and 150+ Ebola orphans supported each month in our SPOCK program.

I wanted to share how the Don & Lori Chandler family in Idaho put together a little holiday service project called the “Orphan Phun Run 2020”. Kids got sponsors for each mile they walked, which raised a generous $2,506.35 to provide much needed support to families voluntarily caring for their orphaned kin.

I am always amazed at what happens when people decide to do something, anything, to help others. Good things just happen! What a beautiful thing!

International pop star Camila Cabello gives a shout out to Africa Heartwood Project with the release of her latest song “Living Proof”, which uses a portion of one of our favorite videos from our YouTube channel, “Three African Clapping Games from Liberia”. Camila has a big heart and loves the work we do with orphans in Liberia.

We did 6 Village Water Projects in Ghana this year - more than in any other year - thanks to Plant Therapy’s generous support. It was nice to have a refreshing drink of cool, clean water upon arrival to ASAREKROM village after a 2.5 hour drive on some terrible roads. We appreciate Gladys Yamoah, our local implementing partner, and Ruby Jones for the camera work.

In the news! This article appeared in the Ghanaian national news regarding the six Village Water Projects we just completed in Ghana this month, sponsored by Plant Therapy.

Six deprived communities in the Central and Eastern Regions have been provided with bore hole mechanism to supply them protable source of drinking water. They are Assin Dadieso Fawomanye, Yerebrema…

Check out this video. Kindness begets kindness. Good works inspire others to good works. The owners of Plant Therapy give a lot - to charities and to their employees - which has inspired their employees to mobilize to also give. Plant Therapy’s “Planting Kindness” is a major sponsor of our Village Water Projects, and our SPOCK initiative to care for orphans in Liberia this year. $1,200 gathered by employees this morning, given to Chris Jones to give to AHP to support our Ebola orphans. Wow! (And, if you need essential oils, consider PlantTherapy.com because they do good stuff with their profits!)

Just completing our first Village Water Projects of the 2019 dry season with two hand dug wells for Victoria Island in Liberia. Sponsored by the Ken Melby family, with the Larson family pitching in. Our local water team in Liberia did a great job completing two wells in two weeks. Only 24 bore holes to go!
