Greater Douglas United Way United Way is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) agency that brings people together to help our community reach its full potential.

We partner with local nonprofits, businesses, government and social service agencies to address our community's most pressing needs. Our Vision
United Way envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability and healthy lives. Our Mission
United Way improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. Our Goals
In 2008, United Way initiated a 10-year program designed to achieve the following goals by 2018:

Improve education, and cut the number of high school dropouts — 1.2 million students, every year — in half. Help people achieve financial stability, and get 1.9 million working families — half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable — on the road to economic independence. Promote healthy lives, and increase by one-third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors. Our goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths — a national network, committed partners and public engagement capacity — we can achieve them. Goals for the Common Good Report
You can learn more about United Way's 10-year goals in Education, Income and Health from our report "Goals for the Common Good, the United Way Challenge to America".

Honoring Our Roots, Building Our Future: Introducing the Vintage Impact Campaign

For over 70 years, Greater Douglas United Way has been woven into the fabric of Douglas County. From supporting local families during seasons of hardship to partnering with local non-profits, our history is a reflection of this community’s generosity, resilience, and heart.

Our mission has always been simple yet powerful: to unite people, resources, and organizations to build a stronger, healthier Douglas County. Looking back at our history reminds us that every program funded and every life changed started with neighbor helping neighbor.

That’s why we are so proud to introduce our Vintage Impact Campaign.

To us, "Vintage Impact" isn't just a nod to our long-standing history—it’s a celebration of timeless values. It represents decades of proven dedication, trusted relationships, and deep local roots, combined with a renewed commitment to address the evolving needs of our community today.

When you support the Vintage Impact Campaign, you aren't just giving to a fundraiser, you're carrying forward a local legacy of care, action, and lasting change.

Join us as we honor where we’ve been and invest in where we’re going together!

Bursting with Hope: Bubbles for a Better Community was a total splash!

Fords Pond was filled with colorful, scented bubbles and bright smiles last Saturday as neighbors gathered in Sutherlin to support a great cause. We are so grateful to everyone who participated!

Proceeds from this walk—and all Greater Douglas United Way fundraisers—are directly reinvested into Douglas County.

Through our partnerships with more than 20 local organizations, we work together to build a vibrant community where every family can flourish.

If you missed this year's Bubble Walk, no need to worry! We'll be back next year with even more excitement, fun, and community impact. Keep an eye out for updates!

Thank you to our sponsors:
Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians
Victory Builders Inc.

You helped make this all possible!

A huge thank you to Ryan with Good Vibes Foam Party for bringing the fun with his impressive foam cannon, upbeat tunes and infectious, positive energy!

✨ Childlike Wonder & A Love for Bubbles: The most important items on the list! Bring your energy, your smiles, and get ready for an unforgettable day supporting a great cause.

Additional Helpful Suggestions:

Last month, our Greater Douglas United Way team attended the United Way Worldwide Western Regional Conference in Portland to learn, collaborate, and connect with fellow leaders. While there, we had the privilege of meeting Lori Almarza, Executive Director of Kaua'i United Way.

After Hurricane Lowell recently hit their island, we reached out to check on our friends across the ocean. The devastation has been severe—over 120 homes were heavily damaged and at least 10 were completely destroyed. Despite supply delays and tough conditions, Lori and the Kaua'i United Way team are working tirelessly on the ground to support their residents.

Even though we are miles apart, the United Way spirit means showing up for one another. 🌺

If you are able to help our friends in Kaua'i rebuild and recover, please check out the attached graphic for ways to support their relief efforts. Every bit makes a difference! 💙
