In case you missed it, CareOregon Foundation's first-ever open grant making opportunity is live! Their 2026 Community Grant Opportunity is focused on helping communities thrive by supporting the work of local leaders, organizations and coalitions. Applicants can submit general operating support proposals for up to $300,000 over a maximum of three years.

There is a particular interest in supporting youth and young people in Tribal/Indigenous, immigrant and refugee, and LGBTQ+ communities and the ways in which they reimagine leadership, livelihood and governance.

We're excited to share a new tool built with and for rural communities: the Rural Community Building Reflection workbook.

Rural community builders in Oregon were the first to try out this workbook. Called Fortaleza (“strength” in Spanish), this group includes people from all walks of life who work to make things better for people in their community. Their input helped to make this workbook even better! 🤝

Download it, write in it, scribble your notes, use it as a meeting guide and return to it over time. Get the free workbook in English or Spanish at tfff.org/rural-community-building.

Have you signed up to receive a print copy of our 2026 Oregon by the Numbers report? It's a county-by-county look at our state, giving you numbers to measure impact and drive change where you live.

Oregon has 36 counties, thousands of communities, and countless stories — and the annual Oregon By The Numbers report helps tell them through data.

Reserve your 2026 print copy at tfff.org/obtn before July 31 and we'll mail it straight to you when it launches in September.

We are excited to introduce Taylor Smiley Wolfe as our very first Director of Policy! 📣

Taylor brings more than 13 years of public policy and advocacy experience to this new role, building strategies that center on the people most impacted by policy — and making sure the systems meant to support communities actually do.

"The work that I’ve always loved to do is chart a path to outcomes on issues that people care deeply about, but are struggling to believe that change is possible."

What a privilege it was for our President and CEO Kara Inae Carlisle and other members of our team to attend Lillian Pitt's art exhibition at The Museum At Warm Springs.

As the inaugural recipient of our 1905 Legacy Award, Lillian embodies what the award was created to honor.

“She held ground and broke ground in major art institutions and academic venues that had not previously shown contemporary works from thriving Indigenous artists of her generation,” said Elizabeth Woody, the museum's director and Lillian's niece.

Our team left the event feeling grateful and inspired, and affirmed in our commitment to supporting Oregon's extraordinary visual arts community.

Lillian's exhibit will be on display at the museum through October 10, 2026.
