Annual haunted house put on by The Roseburg Fright Club is an all volunteer, non profit group, interested in helping the youth in our area.....
Many of the folks involved in this nomadic haunt have been around for centuries.... Err since 1993. From our humble beginnings at Eastwood Elementary School, we have been located all over the greater Roseburg Area. From school gyms to empty warehouses, to
the Fairgrounds and now back downtown at the Roseburg Elks Lodge. One it gave us a permeant home to hold our Haunted House and two it allows us to contribute by raising funds for the many charitable acts the Roseburg Elks do for Roseburg and Douglas County. We have also been involved in taking in canned food donations for UCAN. Another way Roseburg Fright Club assists the youth in our area is by encouraging the local high schools to be involved to occur the required community service hours for graduation, clubs and other organizations, or for their college applications. Come visit if you have the .guts...because you may not have the guts when you leave!

Cyrils House of Horrors
It T'was a terrible thing that Cyril had done.
155 years ago Cyril bought the corner lot at Lane and Jackson and had built a beautiful house for him and his bride. Together they were raising three wonderful children, 2 strong boys and a lovely daughter. Over the next few years Cyril Cyril opened a prosperous butcher shop, attended the local church right across the way. Cyril was even asked to help with the founding of Roseburg OR in 1822. (150 years ago)
Then one dark and stormy night ....
Those poor children and their Mother did not stand a chance.... so much blood. It was enough to bring strong men to their knees when they entered the House. Nobody figured out the why,
Cyril was tried and found mentally insane and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in Fairview Manor located across the South Umpqua River, where today stands the Douglas County Fairgrounds
While confined to Fairview Manor. Cyril was placed under the care of DR. In Human. The “good" doctor’s methods of treatment were considered by many to be worse than some of the crimes committed by the people who were committed to the asylum. Cyril spent the remainder of his life confined to Fairview. Where he died 145 years ago
During one of Cyril’s treatment sessions with DR. In Human the concept of reanimation was discussed, this idea was something that always stuck in Cyrils head.
“Maybe just maybe if I could bring my family back for even one minute perhaps, I could apologize to them and no longer be in this Hellscape that I'm in now!”
Cyril had read a book by Mary Shelby called Frankenstein’s Monster perhaps reanimation was the answer, but how??? For 138 years nothing happened, but then around 2010 The Elks Lodge decided to hold a fundraiser.... A Haunted House as it were. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Something has been reborn in the ballroom, the faint child laughter.... the screams......the moans........the Strange happenings, has Cyril returned? Every year it culminates during late October when the Haunted House takes place. It's been 150 years. Will he be able to wake his Family this year?
