UPDATE: Homann Rd, Polonia at Rolling Ridge, Williamson, Tomahawk and SE River are now open.

There are multiple county road closures today due to rising water resulting from rainfall.

Please bookmark and check atxfloods.com today to see the locations on a map. Drivetexas.org is also helpful.

Please do not drive through high water or around barricades. It takes very little water to sweep a vehicle away.

The countywide burn ban remains on, with average KBDI measurements still well above the drought threshold in Caldwell County. Rainfall from recent Central Texas storm activity largely missed Caldwell County, with Lockhart receiving just three-tenths of an inch. All outdoor burning is prohibited.

Caldwell County is hosting a free tire collection event to give residents an opportunity to conveniently and properly discard old, unwanted tires.

Tires will be collected on Saturday, October 18 at 2510 E. Pierce Street in Luling. We will begin accepting tires at 8 a.m. and will continue through noon or until collection bins are full.

We will accept up to 25 passenger vehicle tires per resident. No commercial truck, tractor or industrial tires will be accepted. We will not take tires that are still mounted to rims.

The event is for residents only. No commercial or business drop-offs.

The event is sponsored by Caldwell County Code Enforcement, Caldwell County Constable's Office, PCT 2 and the City of Luling's Public Works Department.
