Roosevelt Rotary Club

Roosevelt Rotary Club Roosevelt Rotary Club is a local service club located in Roosevelt, Utah. We are affiliated with Rotary International (www.rotary.org).

We work together with the youth club, Interact, to provide service and donations to our local community and abroad. We are the Roosevelt (UT) Rotary Club. The club was founded in 2009 and was sponsored by the Vernal Utah Club. We have increased in numbers and now have 20+ members. Our primary motto is "Service Above Self" and our objective is to provide service to the local community. We also try

to support international projects through other Rotary Clubs and have participated in international service projects during the last ten years. Some of the projects we have participated in are: The Coats for Kids, 3rd Grade Dictionary Project, Dog Shelter, Enchanted Forest, Rails and Trails, Villa Aquarium Project, and assistance with the Kids Art project through the Episcopal Church at White Rocks Utah. iPads for local Elementary Schools, Planter boxes for the food pantry, and most recently we planted 40 trees at the Roosevelt City Walking Park with the Interact Club. Our main fundraisers is the Enchanted Forest Dinner and Auction held annually in the middle of November. We have received great support for this project from the local Chamber of Commerce and many local businesses. This project is unique since organizations donate trees with the proceeds going to the non-profit of their choice. The club generates funds from the dinner sponsorship and submit a tree to be auctioned. Auctions funds have reached over $200,000 + each year. If you would like to join Rotary or Interact, please message us. We meet every other Thursday, at UBTech in Roosevelt at 12:00 p.m.

We had the privilege of having Leo Thorsen and the men at Thompsen House of Hope share their stories at our Rotary meeting today. Leo expressed how there were giants in his life that came forward at the beginning of his sobriety and who continue to be there today, lifting him up. We can all agree that he is the GIANT in the men’s lives at the recovery center now. It was inspirational to be in a room with these men who owned their path and choices with a spirit and drive to overcome and change their future. We want to thank them, and also congratulate Leo on 10 years of sobriety in a few weeks!

We love this tradition of gifting our local 3rd graders dictionaries each year! We decided this would be a great year to give them all a copy of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights Pamphlets.

It's a privilege to serve in our community! If you would like to join our service club, we would love to have you!

Thanks to our Rotary Members Collin Peterson with Moon Lake Electric Association, Inc. and Cy Morton with Uintah Basin Healthcare for representing our club!

We had a wonderful time at our 2nd Annual Casino Night on Friday. We had a great evening and could not miss thanking Rotary Club of Vernal, UT, Thompsen House of Hope, Roosevelt Rotary Club, Zoey Barney, and the many sponsors who made this night successful. We couldn’t have done it without your service and contributions. Thanks for joining us. We’ll see you again next year!

Another year with the Enchanted Forest in the books! Our club was able to help with the setup and take down of the event, we even had a tree in the auction (Interact Club, too). A special thanks to the Chamber of Commerce Serving Duchesne County for all their hard work year after year, Dan and Polly Karren, and all of the wonderful businesses who were so generous. Together we raised 252,500!

Our first annual Pride in America Citywide Cleanup was a big success! We would like to thank the Roosevelt Rotary Club and Thompsen House of Hope for their hard work to make our city shine! These wonderful volunteers pulled weeds along our walking path, cleaned up garbage, and even hauled away abandoned mattresses that had been left in our public spaces. Thank you for taking pride in your community!

If you missed out on your chance to participate this year, don't worry, we'll be bringing the cleanup back next year!
