The Children’s Learning Center (CLC) Upper School Graduation Held Today

A joyous graduation ceremony was held today for six students in the CLC Upper School. Educational Director and Principal, Kevin Loughlin welcomed all and expressed his best wishes to all the students and their families. He complimented the students on all their hard work and accomplishments, as well as the positive spirit and energy they shared with all in the school community.

The faculty members who taught each student shared personal memories and expressed how happy they were to be part of their learning experience here.

Each graduate received a variety of awards that came from the White House as well as officials from New York State, Nassau County and the Scouting Organization of America.

The CLC Chorus, which included some grads, sang two songs for all in attendance and it was just wonderful.

The graduating students will be missed. We thank them for the impact they had on our school and our Agency and offer our most sincere wishes for happiness and continued learning. We thank their families too for all their efforts and support. Thank you to all who worked hard to make this graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026 so special and celebratory!

CLC Students Happy to Welcome Special Visitors from HorseAbility

Some wonderful, friendly horses paid a visit to the Children’s Learning Center recently and our students enjoyed every moment! The weather was warm with a breeze, perfect for some one-on-one time with these special visitors.

HorseAbility began in 1993 when founder Kathleen (Katie) Kilcommons McGowan lent her horse to a friend and physical therapist who used hippotherapy as a treatment modality for a child with cerebral palsy. When Katie saw the child’s physical and emotional connection with the animal and how her treatment accelerated through the use of the horse, Katie knew she had found her calling. Combining her education, her love of children, and her relationship with horses, she forged her own trail to start this wonderful organization.

HorseAbility has been visiting CLC for many years now. It is an experience truly enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who helped make this unique opportunity possible!

Today the annual Scout Camporee was held at the Children's Learning Center in our beautiful outdoor recreation area! We are so grateful to the team from "Scouting America," the Theodore Roosevelt Council who organized a spectacular event.

The Theodore Roosevelt Council members have been coming to our school for decades and helping out with the scout groups here that the CLC students so enjoy! NCPD also did a helicopter flyover to add to the fun and excitement. The Pinewood Derby was incredible! Everyone enjoyed the activities and the BBQ!

Thank you to all who worked hard to make this event so wonderful!
