CP Nassau was honored to participate in the 31st Annual Long Island Family Support Services Advisory Council’s Legislative Breakfast, hosted at the Hilton Long Island/Huntington.

At the event, elected officials had the opportunity to communicate their commitment to strengthening the disability services system, which, among other things, needs a targeted 3.4% inflationary increase, as well as the restoration of the Healthcare Enhancement Program.

One of the most powerful speeches of the day was delivered by CP Nassau’s Kevin Christman, who shared a self-advocate’s perspective and highlighted the importance of protecting and sustaining services for people with disabilities.

This week at CP Nassau, we had the amazing opportunity to celebrate the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of our new CLC Sensory Room.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the generous contribution of our dear friends at Jovia Financial Credit Union who have supported our mission over the years.

During the event, led by our CEO, Karen Geller-Hittleman, our staff and distinguished guests from Jovia had the opportunity to learn from our Occupational and Physical Therapists, as well as our Speech-Language Pathologist, about the incredible benefits of having a sensory room and how it can translate into life changing experiences for our children.

From all of us at CP Nassau, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jovia for their continued support.

We look forward to many more projects together.

Our recent SPA & Beauty Day was filled with fun, relaxation, music, and plenty of laughter at CP Nassau!

Our participants enjoyed a day of pampering, including beautiful manicures, relaxing facials, and other spa and beauty treatments.

But the best part was seeing everyone enjoying the experience together. From listening to great music and sharing laughs to simply spending quality time with one another, the day was full of smiles and wonderful memories.

What an incredible celebration of creativity, curiosity, and the love of learning.

Participants from across our ADS departments and programs came together to showcase their science projects, experiments, and innovative ideas. From hands on experiments to artistic and creative presentations, each project reflected the participants’ unique interests, knowledge, and perspective on what science means to them.

We’re proud to see our participants explore, create, experiment, and share their ideas with confidence. And, of course, none of it would be possible without the dedication and support of our amazing staff, who were right alongside them every step of the way.

Our Community Based Day Hab Program just celebrated its Annual Summer Barbecue, a special event that both our program participants and staff look forward to every year.

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy delicious food, listen to great music, share plenty of laughter, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

For our team, creating moments like these is about more than just an event. It’s about building community, creating meaningful experiences, and, most importantly, putting smiles on the faces of the people we serve.

Exciting day at ADS as we celebrated the 2nd Annual ADS Bowling Tournament Awards.

What started last year as a fun idea to bring the department together has now become an annual tradition. Bowling was one of the activities our guys said they loved, so we decided to turn it into a tournament, and it has been a tremendous success.

Throughout the year, participants kept asking, “When is the next bowling tournament?” Today’s event made it clear why. They enjoyed being part of a team, getting out into the community, competing, and most importantly, having a great time together. We are proud to see this event continue to grow and bring everyone together through teamwork, friendship, and fun.

Congratulations to all of our participants and thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s tournament another memorable one.

The CP Nassau 44th Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament at North Hills Country Club, Manhasset, New York.

This was a great experience in which, once again, we had the opportunity to celebrate under beautiful sunshine and amazing weather.

CP Nassau is so grateful to the event Chairmen, Joel Paymer, Tony DiLorenzo and Al Steigler and the entire Mulligan Club Committee for all their efforts to make this event so enjoyable and fun. We are also so grateful to all the generous event sponsors, the attendees, the prize donors, the volunteers and the staff at North Hills. This was a team effort and everyone’s participation played a role in the success of the day.

It was wonderful to hear guest speaker, Delaney Bartling share her experience of having cerebral palsy but not letting it hold her back from being a nationally ranked golfer, writing a book this year and getting ready to apply to colleges as she begins her senior year in high school. Also inspiring to meet the recipients of this year’s Mulligan Club Sponsorship, Aniyla Kaine and Bryce Dandridge from Roosevelt High School. The Million Dollar Shootout, featuring the best golfers of the day was a fun and exciting highlight at days end.

Mel Stein, longtime member of the Mulligan Club was honored for his years of services and generosity and Karen-Geller Hitttleman, Executive of CP Nassau and Bob McGuire, retired Executive Director were also honored for all their support.

The raffle prizes were great and there were many happy winners of terrific items. The Mulligan Committee has raised over $5 million dollars over the past decades that benefit the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County. On behalf of all at the Agency, sincere thanks and appreciation to all!

Thank you for helping us make this year’s tournament another memorable one!

This week, CP Nassau held our annual employee training, bringing together Direct Care Professionals, administrative staff, therapists, maintenance workers, and members of our team from across the organization.

Our annual training is an essential part of ensuring that our employees remain up to date on important OPWDD regulations, best practices, and safety protocols, all with one goal in mind: providing the highest quality care and support to the individuals we serve.

Topics covered included OSHA, infection control, safe feeding, safe lifting, sexual harassment prevention, corporate compliance, HIPAA, and more. We also introduced valuable information about our 403(b) retirement plan, helping employees better understand their options and plan for their financial future.

At CP Nassau, we are honored to have a team that is kind, compassionate, understanding, and committed to doing the right thing. Training and professional development help ensure that our staff have the knowledge and tools they need to make a meaningful difference every day.

At CP Nassau, we understand that wellness plays an important role in both our personal lives and productivity in the workplace.

Recently, we had our friends from Vanguard Benefits in partnership with Northwell Direct for an informative "Lunch & Learn: Diabetes 101". Employees had the opportunity to learn about diabetes risks, healthy eating, GLP-1 medications, and the importance of making informed decisions about their health.

For many, the information shared was especially meaningful, providing valuable knowledge about a condition that affects millions of families.
