For two days, a vacant storefront in downtown Hightstown will be transformed into a dynamic, lively exhibition space. Artists from three organizations — West Windsor Arts, the Hightstown Cultural Arts Commission, and the Roosevelt Arts Project — will showcase their talent and celebrate the joy and importance of community.

Artful Neighbors, a pop-up exhibition will take place September 19 & 20 at 135 Ward Street, Hightstown, from 10am to 4pm.

The Roosevelt Poets have been stirring things up since 1975. We hope you’ll join us once again on April 11th at 3:00 pm at Roosevelt Borough Hall for a night of poetry that reminds us all why poems were meant to be heard — not just read but spoken aloud.

The Roosevelt Arts Project is proud to announce its upcoming exhibition, Collage!, A Two-Day Pop-Up Celebration, curated by Ron Kostar, opening on March 7th and running through March
8th. In an era of material abundance, rapid change and limited attention spans, collage has emerged as an art form uniquely suited to our times. The impulse to cut, paste, and reassemble life’s fragments into new forms has produced a variety of voices and new
approaches to collage-making. This two-day pop-up exhibition will feature works by Roosevelt and other local artists whose backgrounds and experience are as varied as the
art form itself.

The show will take place in the newly renovated Roosevelt Borough Hall.
March 7th from 11 to 4 pm
March 8th from 11 to 3 pm

Join longtime Roosevelt resident and pianist Alan Mallach for a captivating musical journey through the friendships that shaped Johannes Brahms' musical world. Throughout his life, Johannes Brahms surrounded himself with a remarkable circle of composers, confidants, and admirers. Mallach will bring their stories to life through music and commentary, revealing the connections behind some of the 19th century's most beautiful compositions.

Former Roosevelt resident Ron Orlando returns to the Roosevelt Borough Hall to share some of his favorite music on Saturday, May 31 at 7:30 PM. Help welcome home Ron and experience his unique sound—a captivating blend of rock, blues, and R&B.

Orlando's distinctive style draws from legendary musical crossroads: from the mythic intersection of Highways 61 and 49 in Mississippi, to Chicago's gritty southside blues scene, and the bourbon-soaked melodies of New Orleans to the soulful echoes of
Memphis' Beale Street.

Ron’s bands have played for audiences throughout NJ, PA and NY. Highlights include opening for Rick Danko / Paul Butterfield Band and several other nationally known acts. His engagements include the Lone Star Café and The Other End in Manhattan and the
Fast Lane in Asbury Park.

A career highlight came when Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain discovered Ron's song "Jolene, Jolene" on iTunes and personally recommended it for her debut film "Jolene: A Life." Ron was honored at the 2008 Seattle Film Festival, where he was
introduced as the film's "Composer."

Love Fest with the Alphabet
A community tradition since 1975, the Roosevelt Poets will present an interactive performance, "Love Fest with the Alphabet", on April 5th at 7:30 pm at Roosevelt Borough Hall. Upon arrival, attendees will receive 3x5 cards containing single lines of poetry selected from the works of our featured poets. Throughout the evening, audience members will be invited to read these lines aloud, creating a communal poetry experience that connects performers and listeners.
Our Featured Poets include
David Stone Herrstrom who describes himself as having many friends, all smarter than him, despite being a "gregarious loner." His work, including imaginary interviews, appears regularly in This Broken Shore magazine.
Wieslaw Czyzewski Wes no longer trusts desks and prefers the aisle seat. A peripatetic watercolorist known for his stews and for biking or hiking spider paths.
Judith McNally's first novel, Jigsaw, was published by Macmillan in 1981. Her play Birdland, about jazz great Charlie Parker, was optioned by The New Federal Theatre, NYC. Her poetry has appeared often in U.S.1 Worksheets. Her collection of short dialogues, a.k.a. "micrologues," entitled Chopping without Chopping, is available from Amazon.
Ron Kostar who believes that modern life makes more sense when it is broken down into visual, verbal, and musical collages. A longtime resident of Roosevelt, he has been active since the Co-vid lockdown making collaborations, most notably A Walk in the Woods with Ellen Silverman and Robert Thorn, Image First with several Roosevelt (and beyond) poets and artists, Three Immigrant Plays, and During the Plague. Ron plays in the band Homestead Ramblers and is working on a novel and a second book of short stories.
Robert Axel refers to himself as the eulogist, ever engaged in oratory honoring those loved ones who have past as well as celebrating the living, loved family and friends. An actor, painter and poet he writes in gratitude of life with images of color, sounds and nature.
