💜 INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY 💜

Today, we remember the lives we’ve lost.
We honor the families and communities left behind.
We stand beside those who are still here.
And we remind one another that recovery, healing, and hope are possible.

Behind every statistic is a person.
A name. A family. A story.
Someone who was loved. Someone who mattered.

And today is not only about remembering—it’s about doing something.

💜 Carry naloxone.
💜 Learn the signs of an overdose.
💜 Share resources instead of judgment.
💜 Talk openly about substance use and recovery.
💜 Support people who are still fighting to make it home.

One conversation can change a life.
One dose of naloxone can save a life.
One person choosing compassion can make someone feel worth saving.

We remember. We support. We prevent. We advocate. We save lives.

To those we’ve lost: you are remembered. 🦋
To those still struggling: you are worthy of another day.
To those in recovery: your story matters.
To the people carrying naloxone, offering support, and refusing to give up: thank you.

💜 Every life matters. Every story counts. Together, we can save lives.

💜🦋

Time to dust off the rain jackets? 🌧️

There is a 60-70% chance for above normal precipitation across the Pacific Northwest from Sep 2-6. There remains uncertainty with exactly how much rain we'll receive during this time, but it's looking like a fall-like pattern. 🍂

Reminder that a large portion of Salmon La Sac is closed due to multiple fires in the area. Please see the below post for more information:

BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT, CHECK WILDFIRE CLOSURES

With a few summer weekends still ahead—including Labor Day weekend—we’re asking the public and our media partners to help spread the word about major wildfire closures at Lake Kachess, Lake Cle Elum, and in the Cle Elum Valley.

Local, state, and federal crews are fighting three wildfires in the area from the ground and the air. A significant portion of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is closed, including Kachess Campground, surrounding Forest Service roads, trails—including a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail—and all public-access areas at Lake Kachess and Lake Cle Elum.

We are profoundly grateful for the enormous effort underway to contain and suppress these fires and protect lives, property, and communities.

If you’re planning a trip outdoors in Kittitas County, please check current closures and evacuation notices before leaving home and plan accordingly. We welcome visitors and recreationists, and we want you to return to your favorite lakes, trails, and mountain areas. Right now, however, closures are necessary to protect both the public and the firefighting operations working to keep our communities safe.

The Sheriff’s Office and our state and federal law-enforcement partners are actively enforcing these closures.

Thank you for helping us spread the word—and for supporting the firefighters and communities affected by these fires.

Thank you Dru Bru! Much appreciated!

Tough day today for smoke- we recommend staying inside! If you find yourself needing help, please reach out to your local fire department, ask for masks! And call 911 should you experience breathing complications.

Usually, the smoke has cleared out as the day progresses…finally, a good reason for those afternoon winds!
