We’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on this season and listening to our members, our families, and our sponsors. With that in mind, we’re making some important changes to our structure for next year.

For the upcoming season, applications will open one full month earlier than they did this year, and all gifting will be completed in November. This year, we kept gifting open into December to allow space for last-minute applications, because turning families away is never easy. However, we’ve come to realize that continuing into December places an overwhelming amount of pressure on our members and creates unnecessary stress during a time that should be filled with joy, not burnout.

These changes are not about doing less, they’re about doing better. We want to protect the well-being of the volunteers, admins, and sponsors who pour so much of their time, hearts, and energy into making Christmas magic happen for families across Michigan.

We will also be requiring sponsors to share their tracking links for purchased items. This allows families to follow their deliveries directly and removes the extra strain of us having to act as the middle-man for every update, helping communication feel clearer and more empowering for everyone involved.

We are making a few additional updates behind the scenes as well, all with the same goal in mind: to create a season that feels more organized, more supportive, and more sustainable. We truly hope these changes lead to a smoother, calmer, and more joyful experience for our entire community next year because the magic we create together matters, and so do the people creating it.

✨ Seeking Christmas Sponsors for Michigan Kids

Hi everyone, our program was created by two best friends who knew firsthand what it felt like to worry about giving our kids a magical Christmas. What began as one parent helping another has grown into a community of kindness that makes sure local children feel seen, loved, and remembered every Christmas.

This year, we’re facing a real challenge. Several sponsors had to step back due to financial hardship, and a number of Michigan kiddos suddenly have no sponsor at all. We also had to limit how many families we could accept and even create a waitlist. Something that broke our hearts.

We’re looking for sponsors willing to adopt a child or family by purchasing from their Amazon registries. We serve children ages 0–17, because big kids deserve magic too.

If you or someone you know can step in, even just by sharing this post, it would mean the world to these families and to us. 💛

✨ Applications Are Now Closed ✨

Thank you to every family who applied for assistance this season. We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming response and the trust you place in Santa’s Little Helpers Michigan each year. Because of the high number of applicants, our program has officially reached full capacity, and we are unable to accept any additional applications at this time.

Our team has been working around the clock reviewing submissions, answering questions, and making sure each approved family is fully set for the holidays. Your patience, kindness, and cooperation throughout the application process have meant so much to us.

🎁 What Happens Next?

Approved families are all set, and no further action is needed.

Gifting begins December 1st, and items will be sent out throughout the month. Please keep an eye on your email for updates, tracking information, and any communication from our team.

🎅✨ Important Update from Santa’s Little Helpers Michigan! 🎄

Hi everyone! We have some exciting news and important updates to share as we continue to grow and make this Christmas season extra special for Michigan families. ❤️

Starting immediately, all new applicants will now be required to complete an official application to receive assistance. This new process will help us stay organized, ensure fairness for every family, and make it easier for our helpers to reach those who need a little extra Christmas magic this year.
