Congratulations to our winner Bonnie Meyers. She is the first winner in VFW Post 1101's summer fundraiser. We still have 2 more $200 gift cards to give away and two more drawings. Be sure to get your tickets and support the veterans in your community. You can purchase yours at the Romney Brew Station or by talking to any of our local VFW members.

Also do not forget to tell the youth in your life to participate in our scholarship contests that have started and will go through October 31st. They could win monies up to $5k for grades 6-8 (Patriots Pen) and up to $35k in scholarships for grades 9-12 (Voice of Democracy). We look forward to your submissions.

What are you doing BEFORE July 4th?? On Friday July 3rd your local VFW post 1101 will be helping Romney Post 91 - American Legion with their event at Cam’s Quick L**e. Come by and support local veterans.

We have a busy week! A display for Independence Day has been placed in the Hampshire County Public Library in Romney. The display has a copy of the Declaration of Independence and the pages that were Thomas Jefferson’s rough draft.

I have talked to many folks that think because we do not have a building in Romney WV anymore, that we do not exist. This is just NOT TRUE.
