We expanded access to life-saving naloxone in Rome today by adding two new community access points.

One is a dedicated Stay Harmless distribution box, and the other is a naloxone shelf inside an existing mutual aid box made possible through a partnership with a local church.

We’re incredibly grateful for partners who share our commitment to saving lives. Every new access point means someone may have naloxone when they need it most.

You can grab free naloxone and test strips in the mutual aid box located @ 1941 Shorter Ave Rome, Ga. 30165 (in the parking lot of West End Plaza)

We’re honored to partner with The Vision Wellness & Recovery, a comprehensive recovery program committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives through faith, recovery, accountability, and hope.

As part of this partnership, Stay Harmless has installed a fully stocked community distribution box outside their facility, providing 24/7 access to naloxone, safer s*x supplies, hygiene products, and other harm reduction resources.

Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. It takes people and organizations willing to meet individuals where they are while supporting where they’re going. The Vision is creating a place where healing, stability, and long-term recovery can take root, and we believe their presence will make a lasting impact on our community.

We’re excited for what the future holds and grateful to stand alongside The Vision as partners in serving Northwest Georgia. Together, we’re making support more accessible, reducing barriers, and reminding people that they’re not alone 💜

What does that mean?

✨ Autonomous – You can complete the test yourself, on your own terms.
✨ Anonymous – Your privacy matters. You can test without sharing your personal information if you choose.

If you’ve never used one before, don’t worry! Our peer team is happy to walk you through the process step by step while allowing you to remain in control. You decide how much support you’d like.

No matter the result, we’re here for you. If your test is reactive or you simply want additional support, we can provide confidential linkage to confirmatory testing, medical care, treatment, and other community resources.

Knowing your status is an important part of taking care of your health—and we’re here to support your wellness goals without judgment.

Today, we recognize National Naloxone Awareness Day—a day that means a lot to many of us personally.

As people with lived experience, we have seen firsthand the impact naloxone can have. We have watched families get more time with their loved ones, friends receive another chance, and community members survive long enough to find hope, healing, and recovery.

Naloxone is more than a medication. It is a second chance. It is a bridge to tomorrow. It is a reminder that every life is worth saving.

We also take time today to remember those we have lost to overdose and to honor the loved ones, first responders, healthcare workers, outreach teams, and community members who continue showing up every day to save lives.

At Stay HARMless, we believe that compassion is stronger than stigma and that no one should die from a preventable overdose. Carrying naloxone is an act of care, and making it accessible helps create safer, healthier communities for everyone.
