We know you've already started. Decorations are popping up all over the city. Be careful getting them set up. Safety first!
The details: Rome Clean and Green is partnering with the City of Rome’s Common Councilors in a city-wide Halloween Residential Outdoor Decorating Contest. Each Councilor will select one residence within their ward that demonstrates an outstanding effort to decorate for Halloween. The Common Council President will select one winner from throughout the city.
Once selections are made, the names and contact information for all selected winners will be provided to Rome Clean & Green. City Hall staff are eligible to participate. Winners will be notified initially by email, with USPS mail used if necessary and will be invited to attend the October 28th Common Council meeting where they will be recognized and announced from the podium.
Each winner will receive:
• A Rome Clean & Green yard sign recognizing their winning residence, to be displayed in time for trick-or-treaters;
• A framed certificate commemorating the award; and
• A $25 gift card for a local business to further home beautification efforts.
Here’s the schedule:
Judging Begins - 15 - 21 Oct
Winners Selected - 22 Oct
Winners Contacted - 23 Oct
Announcements at Common Council - 28 Oct
Media Announcement - 29 Oct
Pick Up Lawn Signs - 08 Nov
The Halloween contest will serve as the first step in reintroducing Neighborhood Beautification Awards to the community in Spring 2027. If you have any questions, reach out to your ward councilor.
