Today is my sister’s Heavenly birthday. My mom has had to endure 14 birthdays without my sister.
I am now in the same boat, I will have to spend the rest of my life spending my baby’s birthday on earth while he is not here. My compassion has grown so much for my mom because this is not a fun, nor easy club to be in.

My mom was an 18 year old girl when she had my sister and now she is 50 and she has positively impacted so many people over the years.

This is how The Sweet Cocoon got its name. I am copying from my mom’s post from a few years ago. My sister will be celebrating her 32nd Heavenly birthday tomorrow. 🥺

“On this day 10 years ago I wrote this for Marlowe’s 17th Birthday ❤️

Oh be still my Marlowe loving heart
You’ve consumed me and amused me from the very start.

You landed in my arms some seventeen years ago
But never in a million years would I dream I’d love you so

You give me courage to handle life each and every day
I love you, my fragile beauty, much more than words can say.

You are a precious caterpillar wrapped in a sweet cocoon
Who’ll emerge a beautiful butterfly in Heaven way to soon.

Oh the blessings you’ve bestowed and the many hearts you’ve touched
Though no longer can you find the words, from you I’ve learned so much.

Your sweet, sweet smile and love filled eyes speak volumes unto me
I cherish that you’ve taught me how to clearly see

The memories that I’ve made with you, with them I’ll never part
Your captive spirit dances still, leaving footprints in my heart.

Marlowe will celebrate her 27th Birthday tomorrow in Heaven. I guess only God knew the impact some of these words would have on my journey.”

🌱 BIG NEWS! 🌱

I am excited to announce the official opening of Mustard Seed Therapy the week of June 8th!

As a pediatric occupational therapist, my mission is to provide Christ-centered care that nurtures each child’s unique, God-given potential. Mustard Seed Therapy will be serving little ones from birth through age five right here in Rome, Georgia.

Taking this leap to open my own practice has been a journey of faith, and I am reminded of Luke 1:37: "For with God, nothing shall be impossible." I cannot wait to partner with local families to help your children grow and thrive!

May is Marlowe’s birthday month!
She is the girl behind The Sweet Cocoon! She will be celebrating her 32nd birthday in Heaven. Unfortunately, we were unable to host our Butterfly Ball this year, but we’d still love to celebrate her birthday month! Without Marlowe, The Sweet Cocoon would be not existent.

We really need to purchase some more chairs and possibly some more picnic tables! If you’d like to donate, we would be so appreciative. We serve hundreds of kiddos each year and as we continue to grow, we need more equipment. We love each of you! It doesn’t matter if you donate $1 or $32, it helps us out tremendously.
