HOUSE INCLUDES FUNDING FOR MASTER FARMER PROGRAM

Earlier this week, the House passed its version of the FY2024 amended budget. One highlight of the House budget was the $72,000 included to develop and implement the Master Farmer Program, which has been supported by the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts. The money would be used to finalize the development of the Georgia “Master Farmer” continuing education program for launch in January 2025 in conjunction with GACD, UGA, GSWCC, and other partners.

The budget will now be reviewed by the Senate, and the Georgia Agribusiness Council will continue to advocate to keep these funds included.
