THANK YOU to all of our Volunteer Coaches! 🧡⚾️ Whether you’re “herding cats” on our T Ball Field, Helping your players make their first play on the Rookie Field, teaching your kids that there is life after a strikeout on the Minor Field, or using your best icebreaker line during a mound visit to help relax a nervous pitcher on the Major Field… We see you and appreciate all of you! 🧡⚾️🖤
The heaviest part of the coach’s bag isn’t the bats or the catcher’s gear. It’s the label.
We’ve all heard the whispers. We’ve all seen the eye-rolls when a coach’s kid is in the starting lineup.
We’ve all used the term "Daddy Ball" to vent about a game that didn't go our way.
But have you ever looked at it from the other side of the fence?
Because for every hour that Dad spends on the field, he’s "loaning" his hero to twelve other families. While you get to sit in your chair and focus entirely on your child, he has to be a leader for everyone first.
He’s the one who stayed up late plotting a lineup so every kid felt included. He’s the one who bought the extra bag of sunflower seeds with his own money. He’s the one who spent his Saturday morning raking a mud-puddle into a playable field so your child wouldn't have their game cancelled.
He isn’t just coaching his kid; he’s being a "Borrowed Dad" to yours.
He’s the one who high-fives your son after a strikeout. He’s the one who remembers your daughter’s favorite snack. He’s the one filling the gap for the kids whose parents couldn't make it to the game today.
Is it always perfect? No. Is he human? Yes.
But before we throw around labels that kill the spirit of our volunteers, let’s remember this: Without the "Dads" who are willing to pick up the clipboard, there wouldn't be a game to watch in the first place.
To the parent-coaches who show up for the right reasons: We see you. Your sacrifice matters. And we’re grateful you’re here for our kids, too. ⚾️❤️
