The Pink Ride

The Pink Ride Raising funds for Cancer Research for cancers that affect women The first ride was in October 2007.

Mary Kay beauty consultants started the event with the help of the Western Saddle Club and many other volunteers and friends. It has carried on and in its 5th year now with more supporters than ever. We are just a group of friends and friends of friends who want to make a contribution to finding a cure to cancers that affect women.

WATER AND SOAP IN ARMPIT BEFORE BEDTIME
We spend the night with armpit deodorant in order for our armpit to smell good and fresh.
Some time ago, I went to a seminar on Breast Cancer, led by Terry Birk with support from Dan Sullivan.

During the discussion, I asked a good question: why is the most common place to develop breast cancer tumors near the armpit?.
My question could not be answered at that time.
This information was sent to me recently- I'm glad it has been answered.

Now I want to share the information with you.!
One of the main causes of Breast Cancer is the use of antiperspirant.

Most products on the market are a combination of antiperspirant/deodorants.
Look at the labels!
Deodorant is fine, however ANTIPERSPIRANT can be very harmful because of the concentration of toxins that causes cell mutation: CANCER.
Here's why:

The human body has few areas where it can eliminate toxins: behind the knees, behind the ears, the English areas and armpits.
Toxins are eliminated through perspiration.
The antiperspirant, as the name says, prevents you from perspiring, thereby inhibiting the body to eliminate toxins through the armpits-these toxins do not magically disappear. My question to you all-where does the toxin go? (Your comments please)

Most breast cancers occur in the upper outside quadrant of the breast area (see pic). More common in women however men are not free from this sickness too.
Breast Cancer can develop due to the use of antiperspirant instead of soap and water.
The difference lies in the fact that when men use antiperspirant, not applied directly to the skin, they do so in large part on the hair of the armpits.

Women who apply antiperspirant or aftershave- shaving the underarms, increase the risk due to tiny injuries and skin irritations which allows harmful chemical components to pe*****te more quickly into the body,

Please pass this information everyone .....

Breast Cancer is becoming frighteningly common and this warning may save some lives.
If someone doubt this information, they can make their own investigations
They'll probably come to the same conclusion.

Ok I am getting the Pink Ride fever again. Let's just put it out there and say that we are looking for a venue to have the next Pink Ride fall of 2014! Looking for something in the Tri State area with in a couple of hours drive for us all if possible!

Wow, it seems like forever ago since the last Pink Ride in 2011. There will be another Pink Ride! But unlikely this year. I have had to focus on family and work. Let me know if YOU are on the ready to help put it together and if I know that we will have support, then we will work on getting it going in the future. Just a reminder for you all that we raised $50,000 over 5 years from the Pink Ride for research for women's cancers. Mary Kay foundation actually awarded the Floyd community back that same amount through the women's shelter here. The Mary Kay Foundation serves 2 purposes, cancer research, and funding programs to help women and children out of domestic violence. We have "earmarked" our fundraising for Cancer, so it goes specifically for that, but thanks to the goodness of the Foundation, they choose to give back to our area. Thank all of you for liking the Pink Ride!

Have good news! The Mary Kay Foundation once again awarded our Rome Hospitality House with a $20,000 grant! They received a $30,000 grant from the foundation a few years ago. We have raised over $7000 so far for the Pink Ride and working toward $8000 so we will keep receiving donations and selling t-shirts. That makes over $50,000 raised and donated for cancer research in 5 years, and $50,000 received back to Rome for domestic violence in the same 5 years or so.

I would like to thank everyone with the Western Saddle Club and friends of the club who supported and worked on the Pink Ride this year. We have raised $7000 for Cancer Research! I have much interest in next year's Pink Ride both from local corporations and one National Corporation! This event not only matters to help with the cause of finding a cure, but it gives an opportunity for those affected by cancer and their families fight! Thanks again, Western Saddle club.
