West Lakes Association

West Lakes Association West Lakes Conservation, Inc. (a non-profit corporation) was incorporated in Indiana on October 9, 1964 and is known as the West Lakes Association.

The West Lakes consist of Jones Lake (114 acres), Steinbarger Lake (73 acres), Tamarack Lake (50 acres) and Waldron Lake (216 acres) and is located in Noble County, Indiana. The North Branch of the Elkhart River, with head waters in LaGrange County, flows into Jones Lake and out of Waldron Lake joining the Elkhart River near Ligonier, Indiana.

Very early this morning, three very expensive fishing rods were stolen off a pontoon boat on the Waldron main base. I have attached a photo of these two men fishing this morning off the Jones lake bridge. They are fishing with the stolen fishing rods. Then someone spotted them and took pictures of the car they are driving in. All this information has been reported to the Sheriff's Department. Sadly, I have to tell everyone to lock up valuables and keep an eye out.

STOP LOG VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TOMORROW!!! We require strong volunteers to convene at Duke’s Bridge tomorrow, Saturday, the 18th, at noon to assist in removing the Stop Logs. Due to the heavy rainfall forecasted (2 to 4 inches), if we fail to remove them tomorrow, we risk being unable to do so all winter, potentially resulting in heightened flooding in the spring. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. This endeavor will only require one hour of your time over the weekend and is of paramount importance to your community.
