Our primary mission is to provide emergency services to the residents of our fire district, however, we also have mutual aid agreements to provide support and assistance to our surrounding departments and communities. Last night’s training we focused on supporting our neighbors in the event of a large fire where tanker support is requested. We learned how to fill tankers more efficiently using an engine hooked to a hydrant.

Being in the rural area of the county, efficiently filling tankers and keeping a steady water supply is essential. We were able to shave 8 minutes off of our fill time with just our fleet of tankers, we intend to continue to drill and become even more efficient in providing water supply to tankers when needed.

If you have any questions regarding the fire service or would like to learn more about what we do, we meet every Thursday at 7pm for training at Station #1. You can also message our page or you can text me at 501-301-4644

This was a bit of a different call than our usual calls that we are dispatched for. It was a great opportunity to be able to help our surrounding communities and to put to practice what we train for each week.

At approximately 0330 the initial page was put out to El Paso Vol. Fire Dept. for report of a fire at the Waste Connection transfer station at 1155 US 64 W. The fire was declared a working commercial fire and request for Mutual Aid for water and manpower was paged out. Beebe Fire Department, Antioch Volunteer Fire Department, Garner VFD, Vilonia Fire Department, Liberty VFD (Faulkner Co), Ward Fire Department, Floyd Romance VFD , Mtn Springs VFD (Lonoke Co) , and NorthStar EMS responded. We all used an estimated 100,000 gallons of water and from dispatch till the time scene was cleared was right about 9 hours. We definitely could not do this with out each of our communities support, and not without the dedication of all of the firefighters that responded.

Saturday May 15th, 2026.

We had a little bit of a busy day yesterday. 5 calls with the last one being dispatched while we were on our 4th. 1 MVA, 3 medical calls, and 1 grass fire.

At approximately 1200 Floyd Romance Fire Department was dispatched to the area of AR-31 and Washburn Rd for a MVA with unknown injuries. On arrival we found a single vehicle accident (motorcycle) off of AR 31 on Washburn. FRFD responded with Brush 1 & 2 and 12 personnel, White County Sheriff's Office Arkansas, NorthStar EMS, and Arkansas State Police.

At 1351 FRFD was dispatched to the 200 block area of RG Davis for reports of a grass fire near a structure. Brush 2 & 3 along with 9 personnel responded and were able to quickly knock out the fire.

This week, we were able to get some training in with NorthStar EMS. We are EXTREMELY appreciative and thankful of both NorthStar and Paramedic Captain Deb Horn for coming out and giving us a rundown of one of their ambulances, what they carry, what they do, and the best way we can assist on scene when they arrive. We rely on them not just for medical calls & MVA’s but also for when we are working structure fires. They help ensure that if one of our personnel get injured while fighting a house fire we have medical assistance on scene. We are very thankful to be able to work alongside them.

If you have any questions regarding the fire service or would like to learn more about what we do, we meet every Thursday at 7pm for training. Training is at Station #1. You can also message the page or can text me at 501-301-4644

For those that were around El Paso Rd. by the ballpark between 7-8:30, you got front-row seats to some of our training. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we shut down/restricted travel to one lane while conducting our training.

Training this week consisted of hands-on realistic scenarios involving Motor Vehicle Accidents or MVA’s for short. As a fire department, we are dispatched to many different types of calls, and we train for all of them as best we can. Running different “real-life” scenarios is a great way to prepare and train for when we do get dispatched to those calls.

Tonight we ran two scenarios: one with a just a single vehicle and one with two vehicles in a “head-on” collision. For these scenarios, we used Brush 1 & 3, Squad, and Engine 1 & 2 while firefighters ran traffic control, properly set the FD apparatuses, extricated and assessed the patients, and then cleared the scenes.

If you have any questions regarding the fire service or would like to learn more about what we do, we meet every Thursday at 7pm for training. Training is at Station #1. You can also message the page or can text me at 501-301-4644

Saturday April 11th, 2025

Early this morning at approximately 1245 , Floyd Romance Fire Department was dispatched to the 1200 block area of AR -31 in Floyd for a single vehicle rollover MVA with no injuries. Brush 1 and 6 personnel responded along with White County Sheriff's Office Arkansas. We worked traffic to allow the wrecker service to remove the vehicle and then cleared the scene. Thank you to everyone that responded and to the community member that stopped and helped before we got on scene.

Thursday April 9th, 2026

We had another great training last night! We had classroom and hands on training covering Search and Rescue on a structure fire. We used our conex to simulate our interior and then had our firefighters cover their masks to simulate conditions that could be found inside of a structure fire. They fully turned out (including SCBA aka air packs), crawled, dragged hose or carried tools, and then rescued our “victim”.

Also PLEASE take note, White county is now under a burn ban.
