🍭 🍬 🍫🎃 Trunk or Treat! October 29, 2026 🎃 🍫 🍬 🍭

Come join us for our 3rd annual Trunk or Treat at our main station from 6-8 p.m. for lots of candy and fun! We invite members from the community that would like to participate to come and decorate their own trunks and pass out candy. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Also coming up soon, we have our Annual Deer Hunters Breakfast! We will be raffling a crossbow combo and a homemade quilt this year to help raise money for our Kids Christmas program, with tickets being 1 for $10 or 3 for $20 for the crossbow package and tickets for the quilt will be 1 for $5, 3 for $10 or 8 for $20.

Training tonight and for the next two weeks will be building on what we have learned so far and putting all of our skills to the test. We have groups that covered tanker/pumper ops, interior attack, search and rescue, and a medical station for patients and rehabbing firefighters. It was a really great training that will allow us to continue to better ourselves.

While training, we had not just one call but two calls; the first was a medical dispatch, while the other was for mutual aid on a fully involved structure fire. We pivoted from training and sent manpower, Engine 1, and Tender 1 to assist Rose Bud while also ensuring that our district remains covered.

Sunday , September 27th, 2026. At 1344 Floyd Romance Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Church Rd and AR-305 for reports of an illegal burn. Upon arrival we found a brush pile burning that we quickly extinguished. Brush 3 and 6 personnel responded.

There was a misunderstanding about the burn ban. The entire state remains under a high risk of fires 🔥 and the majority of the state, including White County, remains under a Burn Ban. You can find the status of the burn ban by following our page, checking https://mip.agri.arkansas.gov/agtools/Forestry/Fire_Info?do:showBurnBans, signing up for White county alerts (I have included the flyer), or calling the non emergency line for White County dispatch.

Monday, September 28th, 2026. Floyd Romance Fire Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of AR-31 for a report of a MVA with unknown injuries. Once we made scene we found a single vehicle MVA involving a motorcyclist. We made the decision to close AR-31 down to one lane to ensure the safety of all first responders while we worked to clear the accident. We had 9 personnel respond with Squad and Brush 1 providing traffic control. White County Sheriff's Office Arkansas, Arkansas State Police, and NorthStar EMS responded as well. Patient was treated and transported by NorthStar.

When approaching an accident scene/large congregation of emergency vehicles with lights activated, please SLOW DOWN and be prepared to stop. Thank you to everyone for their patience and for everyone that drove slowly through the scene.

Thursday, September 17th, 2026

For training this week, we had Pam, who is a Burn Outreach Program Project Specialist with the Burn Program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, come out and provide a class educating us on burn emergency management and care. We covered all the different types of burns that we could come across as well as how to best treat the patients until the next level of care arrives. Thank you so much for coming out and putting on the training!

Classes like this help your First Responders better serve our communities. Thank you as well to our neighboring departments for coming out and learning with us. We had 5 members of the Gum Springs Fire Dept. and 5 members of Antioch Volunteer Fire Department training with us this week.

Wednesday, September 16th, 2026

At 2231 Floyd Romance Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Rogers Rd for a structure fire. Once we made scene, we found a fully involved structure fire with heavy smoke and flames showing.

We had 14 personnel respond with Brush 2, Squad, Engine 1 & 2, Tender 1 & 2, and Tanker 3. As always, thank you to all the responding agencies: Constable Betts, NorthStar EMS, and First Elctric for their assistance with this call.

This September marks an extremely important milestone for our department! As of this year, we are proud to say we have another year down of making 100% of all of the calls that we have been dispatched to. This the 5th consecutive year we have done this!

We would like to thank all past and current members who have been a part of these milestones. It takes an extraordinary level of dedication to reach these milestones; every time this department has been called on, they have answered that call, whether it’s the community that we serve or another department/agency needing assistance.

We would also like to thank all of the families of our firefighters, as they sacrifice just as much if not more than the firefighters themselves. Thank you for sharing your loved ones and supporting them!

We could not do what we do or be where we are without the amazing leadership team that we have. The officers have all worked tirelessly to improve and better the department every day. They take classes so that they can become certified to teach our firefighters in-house, they spend time on evenings and weekends making sure our equipment is in working order, and they ensure we have the tools we need to keep us and our community safe.

Finally we want to extend a giant thank you to the community that we are blessed to serve. Without the support that we receive year after year from our community, this milestone would not have been reached. The support we receive is invaluable to us, and your support is what helps us be where we are at. So on behalf of everyone on the department, I want to say to our community, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001—WE WILL NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years later, we want to take the time to pause and remember the day that forever changed America.

Nearly 3,000 people died during the September 11th attacks. 343 NYFD members, 8 EMTs, and 71 law enforcement personnel perished as they rushed toward the danger in hopes of saving as many people as they could on that fateful day. Many more first responders have died since then due to 9/11-related illnesses. For firefighters, this day is the deadliest day in the Fire service’s history.

September 11th and the days that followed showed us the true meaning of courage, sacrifice, service, and unity.

We will honor.
We will remember.
We will never forget.

Good morning! I promise we are not trying to sound like a broken record, this is just a friendly reminder, but White County is still under a Burn Ban.

Unfortunately due to a continued lack of significant rainfall a burn ban is currently in effect for all 75 counties in Arkansas, additionally the wildfire danger for the entire state has been raised to the high category. Please do your part in making sure both your communities and your firefighters stay safe by not burning.

🚫No outdoor debris burning.
🚫Do not discard ci******es outside.
🚫Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass.
🚫Use caution with equipment that creates sparks.
🚫 Avoid letting tow chains drag

Just a reminder, White County is under a Burn Ban.

From Arkansas Department of Agriculture “ Wildfire risk is increased across Arkansas, and the Department of Agriculture is asking residents to stay alert and use caution. Dry weather has made it easier for fires to start and harder to keep them contained, which means even small outdoor fires can spread quickly under the right conditions.”

Due to a lack of rainfall the entire state is under a High Fire Risk. Please do your part in making sure both your communities and your firefighters stay safe by not burning.
