The butterfly garden at the Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge truly is a hidden gem of the Delta! 💎 Everyone needs to go see this beauty in person. You’ll more than likely be visited by several butterflies while you’re there! 🦋

Do you believe this common myth?: “Sea salt is healthier than table salt.” That myth has been BUSTED! Sea salt and table salt actually have about the same amount of sodium in each, both being made up of around 40% sodium.

Thank you to the ladies of St. Peter MB Church for allowing Agent Kristen Nichols to come do a Salt-Free Spice Blends presentation! We learned a lot, asked compelling questions, and then had a chance to make our own sodium free spice blends to take home and enjoy!

It was a beautiful morning with a fantastic turn out. It is such a special blessing to live in a community that shows up for and supports our local businesses and vendors! 🌟❤️

Dates for following markets are to be determined, depending on the amount of vegetables available in the coming weeks. We are also discussing the possibility of a fall market with pumpkins and other fall items! Drop us a comment if you’re interested! 🎃

Stop by and purchase vegetables, soaps, candles, room sprays, cold lattes (stock up for the week!), lemonade, pottery, and crocheted animals, all from local vendors! Shop local, support local. We have something for everybody! We are here until 11 so don’t wait! ⏰

If you’re interested in becoming a Master Gardener, here is more information!

2026 Master Gardener online training will be conducted from October 1st through December 10th. The registration period will be from August 12th through September 9th.

On Wednesday July 22nd, many MSU Extension offices will be hosting interest meetings for the Master Gardener program. Contact your local Extension office to find out where you can attend a session to learn more about becoming a Master Gardener!

We'd love for you to be a part of our community of horticultural enthusiasts who love to apply what they know through volunteer projects in communities throughout Mississippi! Join us!

Check out the July landscape checklist!

Here’s Mississippi’s landscape checklist for the month of July! Some tasks to consider include...

Root cuttings from azaleas, boxwoods, camellias and gardenias.
Remove dead flowers from crape myrtles.
Water plants.
Deadhead spent blooms from rose bushes.
Watch for garden pests and diseases.
Apply post-emergent herbicide to weeds in lawn.
