Missouri Patriot Pals We also want to help the pet overpopulation problem by helping place shelter rescue dogs into good homes.

To provide Missouri military veterans and First Responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with a trained Service Dog. Our Mission:
To provide Missouri military veterans, and First Responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with a trained Service Dog. Our Goal:

To help our war heroes improve in their symptoms of PTSD, adjust back into civilian life, lead a more productive life and help them build self-esteem. PTSD Service Dogs Training
Missouri Patriot Paws can create customized training programs for PTSD Service Dogs to help those who are suffering and living with PTSD. A specially trained PTSD Service Dog can provide a sense of security, calming effects, and physical exercise that can make a positive difference in the life of anyone that suffers with PTSD. Like all assistance dogs, a psychiatric service dog is individually trained to work or perform tasks that mitigate his or her handler's disability. Training may include providing environmental assessment (in such cases as paranoia or hallucinations), signaling behaviors (such as interrupting repetitive or injurious behaviors), reminding the handler to take medications, retrieving objects and guiding the handler from stressful situations. PTSD Service Dogs can literally change the life of a veteran or other person with PTSD.

I am so proud of this team. Huey is a MPP therapy dog in training. Kelly has visited Washington DC for years with her therapy dogs.

Huey here! What an incredible day from start to finish!

We started in Gettysburg, where Mom took me to places my big brothers Bandit, Maverick, and Apache once stood. I could tell there were moments when she wished they were still walking beside her. Maybe, in some way, they were.

Then it was off to Washington, D.C., exploring the city and stopping at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to honor those who never made it home. Mom says every name has a story, every sacrifice deserves remembrance, and some moments are meant for silence.

Now, can we discuss how many miles these paws walked today?! 😂 Thankfully, Mom came prepared with special paw ointment and gave me a much-needed paw massage before bed!

Tonight, my paws are tired, my heart is full, and Mom says she’s proud of me.

I have some mighty big paw prints to follow, but today I made a few of my own.
