The crew at Goodwill were having fun creating a Halloween display for the competition between stores. They did a fantastic job using different items to create the horse for their display. Stop by and check it out. 👻 🎃

Lynn Slawson and Loretta Peterman took a field trip to Licking to visit with Missouri artist Billie Jean Blaylock Boley. We spent some time in her studio looking at her latest works of fiber art.

We have a few photos of her working on a current project.

We planned on stopping by the Texas County Museum of Art, but they were closed today. Maybe next time.

Get out and enjoy the arts!

Greetings People of the Arts!

Tonight Lynn Slawson, Mary Oliver Hall and Loretta Peterman lead a beginning watercolor classes.

Students made 2 mixed media pieces which used watercolor, marker and acrylic. The third work of art gave students the opportunity to understand perspective and value.

These classes were the first of a series of classes that are a collaboration between Arts Rolla and St. James Parks and Recreation.

The photos included in this post show the students, instructors and the art that was created tonight.

Watch Facebook for announcements on upcoming classes.

Greetings People of the Arts!

This photo was taken at the Opening Reception for the Pulaski Creative Arts Alliance in 2025. It is really nice to see so many returning artists. HOWEVER, it is even nicer to mention that two more works of art have been purchased at the October 2026 exhibition, which features the art of the Pulaski Creative Arts Alliance.

The following works have been purchased:
- Gus by Missouri artist Mary Jane Morton
- Primary Colors by Missouri artist Mary Jane Morton
- Variety by Missouri artist Mary J.L. Rowe
- I Got This by Missouri artist Mary J.L. Rowe
- Lunch Time by Missouri artist Melissa Montgomery Soebbing
- Field of Sunshine by Missouri artist Melissa Montgomery Soebbing

Congratulations to the artists! We love it when art is purchased by someone who will enjoy it every day!

There are still many more outstanding works of art to enjoy at our October exhibition at The Centre - Rolla's Health & Recreation Complex.

Thank you to the people who are supporting the arts! We think you are wonderful!

Greetings People of the Arts!

We had a great time with Nancy Allen, the voluntters and the children at the Newburg Children's Museum at the After School Program.

Lynn Slawson, Mary Oliver Hall and Loretta Peterman gave the children an opportunity to learn more about journaling and to create their own unique journal.

We learned the following today:
- Students LOVE stickers
- Students LOVE the ink pens that write many different colors.
- Everyone loves bubbles.

In addition to the fun art, students sang to us, read to us from their journal and wanted to know when we were coming back.

Everyone had a great afternoon.

Art brings communities together.

Greetings People of the Arts!

We are sharing a few photos that were taken at our First Friday Opening on October 2. Everyone had a good time at our First Friday Opening. We traded Art Trading Cards and had a live performance by Lottie & Lincoln AuBuchon. We also got to visit with and share time with creative and kind people who talked about their art and upcoming learning opportunities and art events.

4 pieces of original art were purchased at the First Friday Opening. So far 29 original works of art have been purchased for our 2027 grant year which began July 1, 2026.

Since July 1, 2026, Arts Rolla has exhibited 306 original works of art created by 78 Missouri artists.

Thank you to our artists, our members, the staff and leadership at The Centre - Rolla's Health & Recreation Complex, our sponsors and the volunteers. The arts bring communities together.
