It’s been about 40 years since this “talking boot” was part of the Rolla Fire Department’s annual MDA fundraising efforts. Great memories! I Michael E. Manley will be working the Boot Drive this year on Friday, August 31st at Wal-mart and would like to invite all the fire department retirees to join in.

Come out to Imo's Pizza in Rolla next Tuesday evening and eat some pizza and help out a great cause. Imo's has teamed up with the City of Rolla Fire and Rescue and the Local 3987 and are donating a portion of their proceeds to the MDA Fill the Boot Drive.

Come and see some amazing Rolla history! Michael E. Manley will be showcasing his 1927 REO Fire Truck at the Cruise In this Saturday at Big Lots on S. Bishop in Rolla. This is one of the first fire trucks owned by the City of Rolla Fire & Rescue!! Several of Rolla’s bravest will be on hand collecting donations for our annual MDA fill the Boot Drive, come out and give to a worthwhile cause and see a unique piece of RFD’s past in person!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to Summerfest and generously donated to our lock up. Despite a torrential downpour, thunder storms, and flooding, the skies calmed down and the events at Summerfest continued as planned. Fun was had by all who turned out, with your help we raised more than $300 in cash donations, with online donations still coming in. Special thanks to IAFF Local 3987 President Eric Newman, RFD Chief Ron Smith, RFD Assistant Chief Jeff Breen, RPD Chief Sean Fagan, and RRFPD Chief Roger Hayes for putting on a great show and having a blast with the kids!!!
