The International Peace Gardens, on the US-Canadian border in central North Dakota, has a long history and connection with the Masons of the United States and Canada. Two of the most noted Brothers from North Dakota, were MW John A. Storman, from Rolla Lodge NO. 66, serving as Grand Master, 1946-1947, and MW Richard C. Lord, Cando Lodge No. 40, during the term of 1977-1978. Both had served as Chairman of the Board for the Peace Gardens. Lake Storman in the Garden, is named after MW. Storman.

The Peace Gardens was in dire need of an indoor facility for use by the International Music Camp, held there each summer, and MW Lord made this need his Grand Master's Project during his term.

He continued to create funding efforts after his term as Grand Master, until the project was complete.

With the primary funding through the Grand Lodge of North Dakota, A.F. & A.M., and the Grand Lodge of Manitoba, A.F. & A.M., the Auditorium was erected in 1981, with an estimated initial cost of $775,000.

The Auditorium also became the US Bicentennial Project for the Masons of North Dakota. Below is a photo of one of the mugs that was used during the fund raising efforts.

The Auditorium can clearly be seen from space! And, easily viewed on Google Earth.
