This morning, we had the privilege of hearing from Devon Pollreisz and the amazing team at Four Rivers Health Center about their incredible program, The Landing.

The Landing provides clothing, hygiene products, baby essentials, resources, and compassionate case management support to foster children and low-income families in our community. After the devastating tornado damage to their previous location, they rebuilt and reopened this March with a beautiful new space focused on restoring dignity, confidence, and hope for those they serve.

What started as a foster care clothing closet has grown into so much more, helping families with clothing for school, job interviews, court appearances, medical referrals, transportation resources, hygiene supplies, diaper bags for new moms, and even luggage so children no longer have to carry their belongings in trash bags.

Their mission is truly inspiring, and the care they provide goes far beyond clothing. Every family is treated with kindness, respect, and dignity.

The Landing is currently in great need of:
• New or very gently used spring/summer children’s clothing
• Men’s clothing
• Backpacks and luggage
• Hygiene products

Donations can be dropped off at The Landing, located at the Four Rivers 18th Street location next to the movie theater in Rolla.

Thank you to the Four Rivers team for sharing your heart with us today and for all you do to serve our community and support vulnerable children and families.

Yesterday morning, we were honored to welcome Dr. Debbie Frost from Compass Health Network for an incredibly informative presentation on behavioral health services in our community.

Dr. Frost shared the many ways Compass Health is supporting individuals and families across our region, including counseling, substance use treatment, autism diagnostic services, school-based therapy, crisis support, and 24/7 behavioral health crisis care right here in Rolla.

We are grateful for the important work Compass Health does to reduce barriers, support local families, partner with schools, law enforcement, Phelps Health, and other community organizations, and ensure people can access help when they need it most.

Thank you, Dr. Frost, for joining us and for your dedication to improving mental health and wellness in our community. 💙

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, call or text 988 for immediate support.

Powerful Morning of Reflection & Learning

Yesterday morning, we had the privilege of hearing an incredibly moving and thought-provoking presentation titled “Returning Home: Life for Jewish Holocaust Survivors in France.” By Shannon Fogg.

Shannon guided us through a powerful exercise, asking us to reflect on the items in our homes, what we value most, and what truly makes a house a home. What began as a simple list quickly turned into something deeper… a realization that beyond possessions, it’s the people, memories, and meaning behind those items that matter most.

She then connected this reflection to history, sharing how, during World War II, over 38,000 Jewish apartments in Paris were looted. Families were forced to flee or were deported, leaving everything behind. When survivors returned, many found their homes completely empty, stripped not only of belongings, but of pieces of their lives.

What stood out most was the resilience of those individuals. Despite unimaginable loss, they rebuilt. They created new homes, reclaimed their dignity, and continued forward with strength and courage.

This presentation reminded us of:
• The difference between a house and a home.
• The importance of community and compassion.
• How everyday choices can either include or exclude others.
• And the incredible resilience of the human spirit.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, reflect, and be reminded of the importance of empathy, history, and humanity. ❤️
