Picking up our air cargo from Visalia. Two beautiful middle ago pugs who had been spending all of their day in the son’s backyard. The heart down the is unbearable. Fortunately, with Gigi’s adoption earlier, we just happened to have room for these two gentlemen. They will be adoptable after their neuter.

Gigi was adopted today! Through no fault of her own, she found herself locked up at the Oakland Shelter. We got her out of there as quickly as possible. I’m guessing Gigi is about 13. She’s a tough little thing and insisted on following me everywhere. Up and down stairs. Back and forth we went. I had her sleeping in my room because, honestly when folks came to meet the pugs, she always got overlooked. Kristen saw her worth though and drove all the way up here to get her. She is going to be loved and adored for the rest of her days. What every senior deserves! Huge thank you to Steve and for covering all of Gigi’s medical and pointing her in our directionā£ļø

May 20th will mark the one year anniversary of our Rome crossing the rainbow bridge, to be closely followed by my GizzyšŸ’” I try to stay busy with rescuing, caring for and loving the pugs here. Not to mention cherishing Gunnar, Squid and Gromit. How very blessed I am to have these youngsters in my life. And yet….. my heart is shattered. There’s no denying it or talking myself out of it. I’m simply learning to traverse this life, knowing I must go on without them. I sometimes feel Gizzy’s warmth beside me and hear Rome’s happy feet tapping on the floor boards. I miss their scent, the way they tucked into me and the sense of purpose they gave me as I was determined to make each day a special one as long as they chose to stay. If you are facing the loss of your soul dog, please feel free to DM me. I’m always here to talk with, or cry with. You’re not alone. Anticipatory grief is a very real thing, just as grieving their loss for months or years is… and yet, I pray every single day, saying thank you God for blessing me with these two precious souls. Every tear I shed and sobs in the night are completely worth the honor it was to have them in my lifeā£ļøā£ļø

If all goes well, these 2 senior guys will be catching a private flight, from Visalia, CA up to us. Their human passed away some time ago and the son has been keeping the pug boys in his sweltering backyard. No access to shade or the home. Thankfully, word got out and one of our rescue coordinators reached out to see if we were able to take them. They will stay here with us and we are partnering with to cover all of their medical. It will be a lot! Neuters, dental’s, nares/pallet surgery, vaccinations, blood work… I will be adding things to our Amazon Wishlist for them once they arrive and I can assess their sizes and needs. For now, let’s just pray for a safe flight & that they arrive in relatively good health. Pugs do not belong outside in the heat or coldšŸ„ŗšŸ™šŸ¼šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ›©ļø

I took Angelfish to . This is such a great pet store! We picked up a few very special beds & .petshop for our new home and Angelfish got totally spoiled trying treats and collecting snuggles. These guys carry all of our favourite brands, plus lots we’ve never tried. It’s safe to say, we will be frequent customersšŸ˜‹šŸ’°

Huge shout out to Kim & Kerry of āœ‚ļø
One of my biggest fears when thinking of relocating was losing our community. Volunteers, helpers, friends.. that’s why having Pooch’s Pawlor pull up and trim all of the pugs nails meant so much to me. Proof that I’m not alone, and I’m already creating a team of helpers. Kim & Kerry were absolutely delightful. No more scratchy nails. I’m looking forward to our next appointmentšŸ’…

I took Miss Lucy on a little jaunt exploring our new home town. She’s always so happy to be included. We found a feed store and thought we should definitely check it out. They have lots of dog things, but Lucy wasn’t interested in that. She loved the tiny baby ducks and chicks! We stood there for quite some time because it made her happy🐣
