Hurricane Cemetery Hurricane Cemetery, an Alabama non-profit corporation, was formed to own, manage and maintain a historical cemetery located in eastern Lauderdale County.

We also maintain a Community Center for public use.

STEW STILL ON FOR TODAY! Today is the first day in memory that it has rained on decoration day. But we will still be serving chicken, beef, and goat stew around 12 noon. (Rain or shine) Hope to see you then!

WHAT A BLESSING! Thursday afternoon these young people assisted Charles Hardy and Martha Hardy placing flags on the graves of people who fought for our freedom in preparation for decoration day. These kids also heard a few old historical stories from Mr Hardy. It was definitely an opportunity to teach them respect for our veterans. Also, a special thanks to the parents and grandparents for supporting these youngsters.

Decoration Day at Hurricane Cemetery takes place on the last Saturday in July. This year’s date will be July 25. Chicken, beef, and goat will be available around noon. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to both State Representative Ben Harrison and State Senator Tim Melson for helping to provide funds to complete repairs to Old Hurricane Community Center which was damaged by flooding from frozen pipes last year. This grant will help us to complete the much needed restoration.
