💙 Weekly Impact Report 💙

This week at Samaritan, 2,273 meals were served in our Cafés and 1,491 neighbors received groceries through our Markets. We also welcomed 33 new families seeking support and hope for the first time.

One of those neighbors was a young widow with three children who came to our Springdale Market. Along with food, she received information about jobs, SNAP benefits, community resources, prayer, and a Bible. Before leaving, she simply said, “I feel so welcome.”

In our Dental Clinic, we met an elderly woman who needed urgent dental treatment before she could receive the knee surgery she desperately needs. Unable to work, struggling financially, and in significant pain, she had been praying for help. After learning we could begin treatment, she broke down in tears, repeatedly saying, “Gloria a Dios” and “Gracias a Dios” — Glory to God and Thank You God.

These moments remind us that Samaritan is about more than meals, groceries, or dental care. It’s about meeting people where they are, walking alongside them through difficult seasons, and sharing hope, dignity, and the love of Christ.

Meanwhile, the Farm continues to flourish. This spring’s harvest has already reached 6,299 pounds of fresh produce — compared to 2,331 pounds at this time last year! Fresh turnips, radishes, greens, carrots, herbs, peas, onions, and more are making their way to our Cafés and Markets, and the first farm bouquets of the season are brightening tables once again.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter who makes stories like these possible. Together, we’re helping our neighbors find nourishment, healing, and hope.

Today, we remember. 🇺🇸

Before every day of service at Samaritan, our staff, volunteers, and neighbors gather together in prayer before the meals are served.

This Memorial Day, we are grateful for the brave men and women who gave their lives defending the freedoms we often take for granted — the freedom to gather, to pray, to serve, and to love our neighbors openly.

We are grateful for the America they fought to protect, and honored to spend each day serving the people within it.

To all who made the ultimate sacrifice:
thank you. We remember you today and always.

❤️🤍💙

Fresh flowers are back on the tables at the Samaritan Cafe 💐

Each bouquet was grown right here at the Samaritan Farm and lovingly arranged to bring a little extra beauty, dignity, and joy to every meal we serve. What started as seeds in the soil now becomes a warm welcome for our neighbors gathering around the table.

It’s amazing how something as simple as fresh flowers can make a place feel even more like home. 🌸

Future healthcare professionals learning compassion, dignity, and community care firsthand. 🦷💙

We’re so thankful for our partnership with the University of Arkansas pre-dental program and the incredible students who volunteer alongside our Samaritan Dental team. These students don’t just gain clinical experience, they become part of a mission focused on serving neighbors who may otherwise go without care.

Programs and partnerships like this help strengthen the future of compassionate healthcare in Northwest Arkansas while allowing our clinic to continue expanding access to quality dental care for those who need it most. Every kind conversation, every helping hand, and every hour volunteered makes a real impact on the lives of our patients.

Thank you to the students who continue showing up ready to learn, serve, and love our community well

Last week at the Samaritan Farm was one of those weeks where every corner of the land was alive with movement. 🌱

Our farm crew harvested turnips, radishes, green onions, Swiss chard, Russian kale, Lacinato kale, salanova, romaine, bok choy, beets, strawberries, cilantro, dill, mustard greens, and spinach… all grown to help nourish neighbors across Northwest Arkansas.

With the incredible help of a volunteer group from Collier and our staff team, we also planted:
🌽 4 beds of corn
🍉 6 beds of watermelon
🌶️ 3 beds of peppers
🌱 3 beds of okra
🌼 2 beds of flowers
🥒 A row of cucumbers
…plus more native plants and herbs all around the farm.

Beyond planting and harvesting, the team weeded green onions, flail mowed spring cover crops for green manure, expanded irrigation for native areas, inspected and expanded the bee hives, trellised peppers, flowers, cucumbers and tomatoes, pruned tomatoes, repaired equipment, improved greenhouse hose systems, and edged the farm grounds.

This place runs on hard work, dirty boots, helping hands, and a belief that growing food can also grow hope. 💚

We are overjoyed to share that the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas awarded us a $5,000 mini-grant!

This funding helps us provide shelf-stable protein to families who need it most, giving them a reliable source of nutrition no matter what challenges they face.

Every protein snack, every food box, every meal that reaches a family is a small act of hope. And we couldn’t do it without partners like the Blue & You Foundation.

Your support allows us to keep our community nourished, cared for, and strong.

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one meal at a time.
