This foundation will continue the fund-raising efforts of the Alexander family in support of the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation. Jay Alexander passed away at age 20 from a very rare form of liver cancer. Approximately 200 people world-wide are diagnosed with this cancer per year. Jay’s life was very active and he is greatly missed every day. We enjoy keeping his memory alive and at the same time raising money for a worthy cause that is greatly needed. This foundation will help us to plan and promote our future fund-raising events. Some of our previous fund-raisers include a sky-diving event, Jumpin’ for Jay, Pig Gigs in New Jersey for 5 years in a row, Pig Gig Arkansas, Cheers to Jay. We are proud to say that our fund-raising efforts have contributed more than $100,000 to FCF. The Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation has made great strides in the ten years it has been in operation, donating over $7 million to 18 research institutions. In that time, they have discovered the genetic mutation common to fibrolamellar; there are now clinical trials; they have hosted a Research Summit where they get all the great minds in one location to discuss this disease; just to name a few things they have accomplished.
