Dear Friends,

What does it mean to become future-fit, not just professionally or culturally, but psychologically?

As the pace of change accelerates, many of us feel the strain of trying to orient ourselves in a world that seems to reinvent itself overnight. The question is no longer simply how to keep up, but how to remain inwardly grounded, flexible, and awake amid so much disruption.

One week from today, Laurence Hillman joins the Kansas City Friends of Jung for Future-Fit: Awakening the Inner Renegade, a live Zoom conversation exploring the archetypal forces shaping this moment, and what they may be asking of us psychologically.

Rather than treating change as something merely to survive, this conversation asks a deeper question: what does the psyche require of us in times like these?

What old forms of identity, certainty, or belonging are being challenged? What new capacities are trying to emerge? And what might the Renegade archetype teach us about meeting uncertainty without losing ourselves?

Join us for a timely exploration of the psychological demands of our moment, and of how disruption, approached consciously, can become part of the work of individuation.

Registration closes soon, secure your access link today.

Warmly,

Your Kansas City Friends of Jung

It’s okay if the "unknown" feels more like fear than freedom right now.

Many of you resonated with the idea of the Renegade—the part of us that dares to step out when the old structures crumble. But let’s be honest: that shift is rarely comfortable. It is inherently destabilizing.

When we drop the masks or step away from the paths that no longer fit, we often have to sit with the silence that follows. That silence is the fertile ground for something new to grow, even if we can't see the harvest yet.

If you are feeling the friction of this transition, know that it’s not proof you’re doing it wrong; it’s proof that you are outgrowing your current container.

For those of you sitting in that space of "not quite here, but not yet there"—how are you holding space for yourself today?

⚡ The Renegade doesn’t ask for certainty. It asks for courage.

When the old ways stop working, our instinct is often to hold on tighter.

But growth rarely comes from clinging to what was.

The Renegade archetype emerges when life demands flexibility, authenticity, and a willingness to step into the unknown.

What if the disruption you’re experiencing isn’t a setback—but an invitation?

What is life asking you to leave behind?

Dear Friends,

Are You Being Changed, or Are You Changing?

We are living through a period of intense acceleration. Culturally, psychologically, and collectively, the ground beneath us is shifting.

Many of us feel caught in a reactive state—trying to keep up with a world that refuses to slow down.

On June 28, Laurence Hillman will explore a different possibility: What if the challenge isn’t change itself, but how we meet it?

The Kansas City Friends of Jung is honored to present Future-Fit: Awakening the Inner Renegade (https://www.kcjung.org/events) , an exploration of the archetypal forces emerging in our time and how they can help us navigate uncertainty with greater awareness, authenticity, and flexibility.

Through the lens of the Renegade archetype—the Uranian energy of disruption, awakening, and transformation—Laurence will guide us through:

• The Anatomy of the Renegade — Why this archetype is emerging now and how it can help us navigate uncertainty with greater awareness and adaptability.

• The Age of Aquarius Reality — How collective disruption can become an invitation to deeper authenticity, individuation, and growth.

• Moving Beyond Survival — Practical ways to engage change consciously rather than merely react to it.

This is more than a lecture. It is an opportunity to explore how periods of upheaval can become catalysts for psychological growth and a deeper relationship with oneself.

We are especially honored to welcome Laurence Hillman, son of renowned depth psychologist James Hillman, whose work bridges archetypal psychology, astrology, and the demands of contemporary life.

We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking and timely conversation.

Warmly,
Your Kansas City Friends of Jung

Dear Friends,

Artificial intelligence is not only transforming technology, it is reshaping how we understand what it means to be human.

In our last email, we shared an experimental video inspired by tomorrow’s lecture, offering a glimpse into the symbolic and psychological questions emerging at the intersection of Jungian thought and AI.

Now, we invite you to step into that conversation in real time.

Tomorrow evening, Glen Slater, PhD will present Jung, AI, and Posthumanism — an exploration of how depth psychology can help us navigate the profound cultural and inner transformations unfolding in the digital age.

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in daily life, the need for psychological reflection is no longer abstract. It is immediate.

This is your final reminder to join us for what promises to be a timely and thought-provoking evening.

We look forward to sharing this evening of dialogue, inquiry, and discovery with you.

Warmly,
Kansas City Friends of Jung
