Three laws most cyclists don't know:
1- Front white, red rear lights required sundown to sunrise and when RAINING or FOGGY! When car lights are on, bike lights should be on!
2- The smartest way to protect yourself is to buy "U" coverage (uninsured/uninsured coverage) from your own personal auto insurance carrier which should probably cover you if you are hit by a careless driver who is uninsured or underinsured.
3- If a cyclist gets a traffic ticket, no points should be assessed on the cyclist's drivers license unless the offense is a DUI.

A crucial reminder from RRPD. Let’s look out for our youngest riders this week—and every week. Please take extra caution at intersections, put the phones away, and watch your speed.

Bike to school week continues next week for RRMS and begins at Kensington Intermediate. Due to construction, Officer Neil is asking that any KIS student crossing Lake Rd to cross in front of Wild Flour Bakery.

We will have crossing guards at the following locations:
Detroit at Erie
Detroit at Lakeview
Detroit at Wagar
Lake at Kensington
Lake Rd. at Falmouth/Lake Rd. Market
Lakeview at Lakeview Ct.
Lakeview at Riverview
Lakeview at Westway
Morewood at Tracks
Riverview at Hampton
Hilliard at Lakeview
Wooster at Shoreland

Please pay extra attention when operating a vehicle during school hours as we anticipate hundreds of students riding to school.

This 1.2 mile infrastructure project will prioritize safety and connectivity while beautifying this area. The city's leadership should be praised for taking this decisive action to bring this to our community.

As officials shared timeline and construction details for the project – which they expect to be complete within two years – residents voiced concerns about temporary takeovers of property owner land and the introduction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Lake Road and Clifton Boulevard.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined our Winter Social at Eddy’s Bike Shop! It was a powerful night of dialogue and partnership. We were honored to host Mayor Bobst, Director Snyder, Superintendent Schirg, Chief Lichman, and Council Members Morris and Furry. Their engagement shows how committed our city is to listening to residents and advancing safety.

From feedback on our Hilliard and Lake-Clifton map to discussions about "Bike Buses" for our students, we are working together to help Rocky River reach its full potential.

Special thanks to Eddy’s for hosting and Cilantro Taqueria for the tacos! As Mayor Bobst mentioned, our presence at upcoming public meetings is vital—let’s keep showing up and supporting the process.

Ready to Ride?
Join us this Thursday, July 10th, at 7 PM! We're rolling out from Rocky River Middle School.
Remember these essentials:
* Listen to Ride Leaders. Your safety comes first!
* Obey traffic laws. Be a great ambassador for the sport.
* Use lights (front & back). We often finish close to dark, and it's the law!
* Helmets are required. Cover that dome!
* Stay chill. No road rage—let's keep it fun and positive.
See you there!
