Q: I suspect my child may have dyslexia. Does the Children’s Dyslexia Center do testing to determine this?

A: No, we do not. There are a number of routes that you may pursue for testing. You can request that your child’s school perform an Evaluation Team Report. Or you can check with your child’s pediatrician, or a private clinician. The International Dyslexia Association also has a resource page of providers that may be helpful.

Once you have received an ETR or other psychoeducational testing for your child, contact us to review the results to see if our program would be a good fit for your child.

The Children's Dyslexia Center will be closed next week, July 6 - 10. Summer tutoring will resume on Monday, July 13.

🌞 Summer Tutoring is now in session! 🌞

Although we do take some breaks in summer, the Children's Dyslexia Center continues tutoring during June and July. 📖 Keeping up with consistent, regular reading lessons helps our students to continue progressing and avoid the backsliding that can happen with a long break away from the one-on-one tutoring they receive during the school year.

Drumroll please 🥁 ...the final totals are in, and we raised $461 from our Mitchell's Gift Card Fundraiser! So many of you pitched in by purchasing and selling 78 gift cards for delicious Mitchell's ice cream 🍨🍦 totaling $1,845 (of which we keep 25%).

Thanks to all who participated. Extra special thanks to our highest sellers, Lauren Brand, who sold $570 worth of gift cards, and Tricia Gompf, who sold $555! The funds raised will be used on needed educational and office supplies.

Our thanks also to Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream for sponsoring this great fundraiser and making it so easy to do!

What a great time we had at our end-of-year party and graduation! 🎓🎉

There were inspirational speeches and stories, plus games🎯, pizza 🍕, cake 🎂 and socializing. This annual event is a chance to celebrate all our students and congratulate them for their hard work and perseverance, especially those who successfully completed the program.
