Troop 244 was honored to present the colors at the Rocky Point VFW’s 9/11 ceremony today. We heard powerful reflections from Legislator Chad Lennon and Sheriff Errol Toulon on how the events of 9/11 have impacted the Rocky Point community. 🇺🇸

At Webelos Woods, BSA Troop 244 from Rocky Point, NY, ignited a passion for adventure in Arrow of Light Webelos Cubs. Through interactive fishing demonstrations, our scouts equipped their peers with confidence and skills, from tackle basics to casting techniques. A fun-filled afternoon of games, including Backyard Bass, promoted teamwork and sportsmanship. As the stars appeared, Troop 244's campfire rendition of 'Sponge Bob Scout Pants' highlighted the transformative impact of collaboration and creative expression. Last night members from BSA Troop 244 Rocky Point, NY attended a Stop The Bleed program at Middle Island Fire Department. This event was put on by Legislator Chad Lennon and Senator Dean Murray. The scouts from BSA Troop 244 Rocky Point, NY SCCBSA Benjamin Tallmadge District got in their first campout of the fall season. We set up camp at Sears Bellows County Park where we tried our go at fishing. All of the boys worked on their fishing merit badge requirements and got in some fishing. While they didn't catch anything with their lures, they did catch the fishing bug! They are looking forward to another opportunity to get their lines in the water. The weekend was capped off with a pot roast dutch oven dinner and pumpkin pie dip that we shared with Troop 4 from Brookhaven out of the SCCBSA Trailblazer District

The Scouts from BSA Troop 244 Rocky Point, NY are at Ace Hardware in Port Jefferson today. They are trying to raise funds to go to Camp at Yawgoog in RI and the Intrepid! Supporting the Scouts helps them achieve so much in life! If you donate, we have popcorn as a thank you!
