The Youth Council is a state chartered organization which is composed of area high school students. It is designed to serve, listen to, and represent local youth in all matters of civic interest and need. Our current President is Nijah Edwards, along with her advisory board which consist of the current Vice President, Daisha Hopkins, as Secretary, Marquis Donaldson, Asst.

⌛ Time is running out to apply for up to $500 in mini grants for youth programs across North Carolina! DOA's Division for Women and Youth is accepting applications from youth councils, local governments, private and/or non-profit organizations for projects that build character and leadership skills in our youth.

The application deadline is October 10.

The 2024 Mini-Grant Conference was held in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, from November 22 -24, 2024. On behalf of the City of Rocky Mount Human Relations Department, we want to thank all youth councils from across the state who attended.

To the Rocky Mount Area Youth Council members, thank you for putting this conference together. Your hard work and dedication made the conference a big success.
