New funding announced to support long-term economic advancement

Today, the Golden LEAF Board of Directors approved funding for projects that will help create jobs, expand healthcare workforce training, strengthen critical infrastructure, and support agriculture.

Highlights include:

✔️ Support for BorgWarner's $100 million expansion in Henderson County, bringing 378 new jobs
✔️ Investments in healthcare workforce training programs in Gaston and Hertford counties
✔️ Funding to support job creation and economic investment programs in Buncombe, Harnett, and Martin counties
✔️ Removing financial barriers to workforce training opportunities for students pursuing high-demand careers
✔️ Addressing workforce challenges facing the North Carolina agriculture industry

This is more than funding, it is opportunities for North Carolinians and long-term economic growth for rural communities.

Four additional North Carolina middle schools have been selected to join the Personalized, Competency-Based Education (PCBE) Cohort of the Golden LEAF Schools Initiative, expanding the number of schools in the five-year, $25 million initiative made possible by funding from the Golden LEAF Foundation
