Imagine if you will a world without coral reefs. For many the image would focus perhaps on Australia’s Great Barrier Reefs being non-existent. Some would visualize the Caribbean fading away as a tourist haven. Or what about the disappearance of many of today’s asthma, arthritis, and other inflammatory medications and treatments? Perhaps turning the clock back on a vast majority of cancer, anti-viral, anti-tumor, and anti-bacterial medications. Never mind the natural protection acting as a barrier/buffer from deadly ocean storms and storm surges or simply from minimizing erosion from our coastal beaches. Rarely is it a conversational topic while enjoying a blackened flounder or similar entrée that without coral reefs, home to over a million diverse aquatic species to include thousands of fish species, there would be no indulging in such delicious foods which come from the sea. This would also include the worldwide income of billions of dollars and millions of jobs in well over 100 countries around the world.

With Hurricane Florence barreling it’s way towards the Carolinas and Virginia, we pray for all of those about to be affected by this powerful storm. It’s times like these that shine light on just how vulnerable our coastal states and communities are. Did you know that the best defense against storms like this is a well developed and strong natural reef barrier? These natural, and artificial barriers can reduce a storms strength considerably as well as help protect life from the devastating storm surges. It’s these barriers in which CRCF INC is working to build up and strengthen. But we cannot do it alone. It’s here where your help and support can help save lives and lessen the devastation from hurricanes such as Florence and others. If you’re asking yourself how you can help, visit us at www.crcfinc.org and together let’s makes a difference for tomorrow.

In addition to our research growth tanks, we’ve also completed our water filtration and marine water preparation system which will take regular tap water, filter it to remove all contaminates, oxygenate it, and store it. Once needed, filtered fresh water will then be pumped into our marine water preparation reservoir where it will then be further oxygenated and prepared to administer to the necessary research tanks.
