A special thank you to Nick Carlson and staff of NCWorks, Roanoke Rapids - Turning Point Region for having such great information for students and adults!! Like he said the NE area Career material was a hit! Showing wage information for careers and just what credentials can do for you! We love collaborating!

Our board team joined partners for sessions that connected our local area and neighboring area of the Kerr Tar Region;,”Tent” sessions, lunch and entertainment by local bands with some very talented students. A great message sent by our Governor as well!

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) empowers low-income North Carolinians age 55+ through paid, part-time community service training at non-profit and government host agencies like senior centers, nutrition sites, local governments, and health departments.

SCSEP is delivered through the State of North Carolina, serving 24 counties and three national providers, together serving 98 North Carolina counties.

Participants gain hands-on experience, workplace skills, and support transitioning into unsubsidized employment, strengthening our communities and our workforce.

IT’S EXTENDED!!

The Broadband Satellite Resiliency Grant program will award $1 million in North Carolina for equipment that can deliver satellite internet service.

State agencies, local government units, volunteer fire departments, and community anchor institutions are eligible to apply.

The program provides funding for satellite “resilience in a box” tools to preserve essential communications when other networks go down during emergencies and natural disasters.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on September 23.
