alert! Congrats to alum Scott Forbes '98, who will lead Carolina Baseball to the Men's College World Series finals for the first time since 2007. ⭐

Forbes played under Coach Mike Fox for two years during his time as a Bishop, when he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. Following graduation, Forbes joined Fox to coach at Wesleyan before taking their talents to Carolina in 1999.

He later served as an assistant at Winthrop University before rejoining Fox in 2006. After holding pitching and hitting coach positions for UNC, Forbes was promoted to head coach following Coach Fox's retirement in 2021. He has led the Tar Heels to over 200 career wins, several ACC championships, and multiple playoff appearances.

His time with Coach Fox is remembered fondly, a shared sentiment with many Battling Bishops. We are proud of you, Coach Forbes. Your alma mater is cheering for you. 💙

Andrea Elaez Miranda '26 recently presented at the Society for Freshwater Science Meeting in Spokane, WA, as a representative of our Environmental Science Department. Her research poster. "Individual and Combined Effects of Fluoxetine and Microplastics on Physa Acuta," showcased her dedication to understanding the impacts of contaminants on freshwater ecosystems. 🔬

Andy was provided this opportunity through Dr. Daniel Elias' National Science Foundation Grant and her recent fellowship!
