🌱 Sometimes the greatest lessons come from the garden.

Today, one of our amazing young volunteers spent time harvesting green beans, learning to care for the garden, and seeing firsthand where food comes from. Watching our youth get excited about growing their own food reminds us why this work matters.

One of the coolest surprises? Some of the plants growing in our garden weren’t even planted by us. Seeds were dropped, found good soil, and grew anyway. 🌿

There’s a lesson in that. When you’re planted in the right environment, growth happens.

And the squash and zucchini we intentionally planted are coming in beautifully for our fall harvest! 💚

At the Thrive Garden, we’re doing more than growing vegetables, we’re growing confidence, responsibility, patience, and a new generation that knows how to care for the land and feed their families.

What seeds are you planting today that will grow tomorrow? 🌱💚

This July, we're collecting non-perishable food items and school supplies to support families, students, and teachers throughout our community.

Together, we can fill pantries, backpacks, and classrooms with hope.

Every act of generosity, big or small, helps make a difference. We invite you to join us in sharing hope, meeting needs, and helping our community thrive.

🌱💚 Garden Day is one of our favorite days of the week!

Today, our amazing volunteers were hard at work fertilizing, watering, and caring for the garden as we continue growing fresh produce for our community. 🙌🏽🌿

And look at the progress! 👀🍅🫑
We have tomatoes forming, peppers growing, and even little squash making their appearance. It’s exciting to see all the hard work beginning to pay off! 🌱✨

A huge thank you to our volunteers who continue to show up, serve, and help this garden thrive. Together, we’re growing more than food, we’re growing community. 💚

🌿 SET IT UP RIGHT SUNDAY 🌿

Right now, many families are making less while paying MORE. 💳📈

Groceries cost more.
Gas costs more.
Life costs more.

That’s why having a budget matters.

Not to stress yourself out…
but to help you SEE where your money is actually going.

An easy place to start? 👇🏽

Open Excel, Google Sheets, or even a notebook and write down EVERY monthly expense.

🏠 Rent/Mortgage
💡 Lights
📱 Phone
🚗 Car payment
🍔 Food
📺 Streaming apps
🛍️ Amazon Prime
🎬 Netflix
🎵 Music subscriptions
☁️ Storage apps
📦 Delivery memberships

Everything.

Because sometimes it’s not the big bills hurting us…
it’s the small charges adding up every month without us realizing it. 💡

Those $10.99 and $14.99 subscriptions matter.

And if you don’t use it?
Cancel it.

Being mindful of your money is part of protecting your peace. 🧠💚

We’re not saying become an accountant.
We’re saying become AWARE.

A budget gives clarity.
And clarity helps families make stronger decisions.

Let’s talk about how much food you could grow in a small space.

You don’t need a huge backyard.
You don’t need a farm.
You don’t even need perfect conditions.

🌱 A few containers.
🌱 A raised bed.
🌱 A back porch.
🌱 A windowsill with sunlight.

That’s enough to start.

📌 Gardening has been linked to reduced stress and improved mental wellness.
📌 Growing your own herbs and vegetables can help reduce grocery costs.
📌 Even container gardens can successfully grow herbs, peppers, tomatoes, greens, strawberries, and more.

Think about it…

What if your children learned where food comes from?
What if your family could pick herbs fresh from the window?
What if one small garden inspired healthier eating habits?

You don’t have to grow everything.
Just grow something. 🌿

✨ WORD Wednesday ✨🌱💚

Sometimes we look at other people’s growth and wonder why our season looks different. 🤍

Some plants bloom fast.
Some grow wild and strong.
Some take longer because the roots are still being developed underneath the surface. 🌿

In our garden, every raised bed looks different right now.

Some are overflowing with growth. 🌱
Some are just beginning to sprout. 🌶️
Some started growing in unexpected ways after simply being planted and left in place. 🙌🏾
And some beds are still being prepared because they simply need more care, more time, and more attention before growth can happen.

And honestly… life is the same way. 💭

God works with each of us differently.
Some seasons are for blooming.
Some are for pruning.
Some are for resting.
Some are for rebuilding roots nobody else can see yet.

So don’t rush your process.
Don’t compare your journey to somebody else’s highlight reel. 👏🏾

The Master Gardener knows exactly what each seed needs and exactly when it’s time to grow. 🌿✨

Just stay planted.
Stay faithful.
Stay open to the work God is doing in you, even in the slow seasons. 🤍

Because growth is still happening… even when you can’t see it yet. 🌱

📖 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

🌱 Preparing the Ground for Growth

Today at REACH, we took an important step in preparing our community garden, soil sample testing.

Before planting begins, it’s essential to understand the health and composition of the soil to ensure a successful and sustainable growing season. This process allows us to make informed decisions that support healthy crops and maximize our impact.

Our garden is more than just a space to grow food, it’s a place to cultivate education, wellness, and community connection.

We’re excited for what’s ahead 🌿 Stay connected as we continue preparing for the upcoming planting season.
