Nash County is deeply saddened by the passing of Dale Griffin, Nash County’s Emergency Medical Services Director.

Dale was a dedicated EMS professional and an invaluable member
of Nash County Emergency Services for many years. He was also a friend to all, someone whose commitment to serving others, leadership, and kindness made a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working with him.

Dale’s contributions to Nash County and the people he served will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his career.

It is with profound sadness and incredibly heavy hearts that Nash County EMS announces the passing of our EMS Director, Dale Griffin.

Director Griffin was far more than the title he carried. He was a paramedic, a leader, a mentor, a friend, and a steady presence to generations of EMS professionals who had the privilege of serving alongside him. He dedicated his life to caring for others and to making Nash County EMS a department its employees and community could be proud of.

Dale led with experience, loyalty, humor, and a genuine love for the people around him. He believed in his employees, invested in their growth, celebrated their successes, and stood beside them during some of their hardest moments. His impact cannot be measured simply in years of service, calls answered, or accomplishments. It lives on in the people he mentored, the careers he helped shape, the patients whose lives he touched, and the department he devoted so much of himself to.

Today, Nash EMS has lost our Director, but so many of us have also lost a mentor and a dear friend. There are no words that can adequately describe the void his absence leaves within our department.

We ask that you keep Dale’s wife, Julie, his daughters, Harlee and Grace, his entire family, and his Nash EMS family in your thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead.

Director Griffin, thank you for your service, your leadership, your friendship, and the legacy you leave behind. We will carry it forward.

Rest easy, Dale. We’ll take it from here.
